When leavin ashford earlier my power steering didn't work for about 5 minutes anyone got a clue what it can be?

It'll be the motor not pump as it's electric

Yes, I get a bit of that too, intermittent just like others have mentioned - wondered if it's air in the system or something like that.

Which could have air in it :?:
I don't know - I just drive the freakin' thing
Makes sense but it wouldn't cause an issue of the EPS switching off...?TURBO":2r1lmxhh said:it still has fluid(thin oil) in the rack
otherwise it would just seize
the steering column in the car is electric and so does all the hard work instead of ur arms or a pump pumping fluid!
TURBO":31qern4g said:no if theres a notchyness or a noise then it could b the rack but unless the fluid has leaked from the rack and its w***erd and seizing then it shouldnt affect the column
if u jump in your car and hold the steering wheel left or right then start it u will find there is afew seconds of delay before the steering motor kicks in!!worst in the meganes but all electic motors from renault suffer with it!!
