After looking at 133_ads' exhaust after he had his boxes removed.. I looked under my car to see what was in mine..

From the back it looked like this..

Tip- backbox- (wire going into exhaust) box(around the front seat position) and then it went up i think.. Not 100%

Just wondering if anybody knows if its possible to remove a box to get more noise out of my puny thing?! Beats paying loads for an exhaust

Is the front 'box' the cat or is that in the manifold? Can always remove the rear box.

It looks like a cat as there seems to be a Lambda sensor coming off of it, but i might be wrong, will try and get it up on the ramps soon Mike!

Thats kinda what im asking, adam said it looks like it could be a cat because the wire is after it.. Wouldnt that make it crazy loud though?

Edit: what he said! ^

Struggling to find a diagram of the layout. Thing is I would of thought the there would be a silencer in there somewhere and not just the back box. But if the lambda is after it, it would be the cat.

Decat? Straight though exhaust, no box's, lots of noise! Unleash the 1.2 fury!

Haha yeah right! I just want abit of noise and it still be able to get through MOT!
Im not sure if it was a lambda sensor, but was definatley a wire of some sort going into the pipe.. What would it be like without the backbox? Or adam suggested taking out all the silencing stuff inside it and putting it back on?

No idea really, I removed the back box on my Alfa and it made it too boomy. Only experience I have.

Can only find out and see really Mike, take it off completely and see how that sounds, if it's too loud remove some baffles! :D

Just thought, since the cat is the only thing in the pipe, wouldnt it be rather cheap to get a stainless cat back custom system?

Probably, plus you could get a nice tip. Also if you know of a good exhaust place let me know as I want the centre section taken out of mine.

Well there a place pretty much right next to trident in st annes that do custom stuff, might head over tomorrow morning actually.. Think its called hi-q or something

Hi-Q only do standard exhausts Mike, a mate works for one near me and he told me they only do standard...

Just phoned them up, said they do custom stainless.. Going to see him tomorrow for a rough quote if i get chance

Yeah, hope they can do me a good price.. Then i can start saving, and mine will sound better than your wet fart car adam..

Ermm Mike what did you say last night? sure i remember you saying it sounded nice? ;)
