The TCe 125 petrol engine is making its debut on New Dacia Duster. The TCe 125, a four-cylinder 1.2 liter direct-injection turbo, offers 90% of maximum torque from just 1,500 rpm. The new powerplant is high-performance and economical, with low running costs. Fuel consumption is a frugal 6.0 l/100km, while the lifetime-lasting timing belt is maintenance-free. The TCe 125 is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Interesting

being dacia, i know that this will be the same engine that's in the twingo gt. to propel all that weight forward faster, the gears will have vastly different ratios. also the map will be slightly more aggressive and biased towards torque output. personally i think it's a nice looking big car, and for roaming about town and carrying around light but bulky stuff with no thrills it will be bang on the money. laughed at the mention of the ''off-road'' pack .... that things certainly not going off any roads lol

Yeah and the turbo kicking in a lot earlier too, looks asif it moves though would like to see if people could get that 6 - speed in there normal twingos , but that's a long shot.

I could really do with a 6th gear :'(

tell me about it man. sitting at 62mph and it's dangling right on 3k revs when my mums nissan's sittign at 70 and doing just 2k rpm. makes me actually want to start crying every time!!!

The 1.2 TCE from the Twingo GT and the mk3 Clio is the 100bhp version. The new mk4 Clio GT has the 1.2 TCE with the 125bhp lump, I was under the impression that that was out already though?

If I ever kill my current engine, I can swap for this engine without Belgian (Nazi) MOT making a fuzz.
