How do you find the play bar sound quality for movies without the sub? I have a Play:5 so don't need sub for music and sub would be overkill for films due to size of my lounge.

P.S. Have you not plugged your play bar in!? Can't see an optical cable.

All cables have been hidden in the wall (messy at the time but well worth it now).

sound bar quality seems fantastic, all i would say is that the sub really does give nice low tones whereas the sound bar doesn't add this.

I figured you'd need the sub :( I'm still not sure the playbar is worth the money, that's the only thing that's stopped me from getting one so far!

thing is... we have some Play:5s and Play:3s around the house and they seem to kick out a decent bass level so it might be ok with a sound bar?

Yep, the Play:5 sound is great and I actually use that hooked up to my TV for films at the moment :)

However, the playbar won't allow a Play:5 to sync and act as a sub woofer and £600 for just a sound bar is quite frankly ridiculous when I could get far superior sound for the same price using say, a Samsung bar and sub.

If money was no object then I'd go with a playbar and sub no questions asked, but £1100 for a 2.1 system is seriously taking the Michael!
