Hello to all, especially to anyone can help :)

Joined the forum last year and have read loads of interesting threads on various things about the Twingo, so been really helpful.

I have a 58 Dynamique 1.2 16v in red, got it late last year and love it. Since getting it I've made some minor changes, but keeping stock as much as possible, one of the changes was installing a HID conversion, Wow what a difference that made, Bright! - it's like driving around with a couple of Sun's strapped to the front of the car!!

I don't want to change the car too much from OEM, I just want to make some improvements, so the next thing I'm going to do is fit Bluetooth, but I don't want to fit an after-market head unit, or external Parrot system. So I've got an OEM Twingo Bluetooth head unit (From a Twingo RS and found on eBay, a reputable car salvage company), along with a steering wheel audio stalk, with the telephone controls, I've also got the face plate etc.

Has anybody retrofitted a Renault OEM Bluetooth head unit to a non Bluetooth equiped car? if so what changes were made, I've read a thread where some have fitted different display's where previously there was only a tray in the dash. which I would imagine is fairly intesive, so I know it can be done, and maybe I need to speak to Renault, but would love to do it myself, so if anybody else has done this, I'd really appreciate some tips.

Thanks

First off welcome to the forum.

I don't think anyone has retrofitted Bluetooth as of yet so that'll be why not many people will be able to respond, I'm sure Oscar will have some information to help you though once he posts as he knows quite a lot.

Wether it works, depends if you have the wiring and connectors in your wiring loom.
The radio , Multimedia Connection (Bluetooth adaptor), Multimedia Interface (radio display) are all connected through the CAN Multimedia network.

You didn't mention getting a radio display.

If the one currently in your car has characters simillar to above, chances are that it will need reprograming through Renault Clip software to function with the different head unit and to let it know there's also the bluetooth adaptor to communicate with. If your radio display currently has block line characters, then you wouldn't be able to use it
