Got a bit of an odd query I'm chasing up for someone else. (Don't worry, nothing's wrong with the 133 :) )

On her car, a while back the front windows failed, (Both electric), and the garage sort of fixed the windows, saying some of the retaining pins had fallen out of place, trapping/preventing any movement in the cogs which raise/lower the windows.
A very short while after and apparently now the regulator and wiring looms need replacing (after the windows have failed for a second time, at close but slightly different intervals).

Knowing how temperamental electric motors can be (especially when their movement has been restricted), my question is essentially could the first problem (and potentially it's sort of bodge fix - was told it solely involved cable ties) have contributed to/caused the regulator & wiring loom failure?

My wife has had to window regs put on her car. On her scenic we went outside to find the window down and will not go back up
