In the near future it will be time for an upgrade. Could anyone recommend a smart phone?

Note I am not a touch screen fan,

I have a Nokia E7 and like the idea of both touch screen and buttons.

Most phones i know of are all touch screen now that are decent. Iphone, Samsung, Windows

maybe Blackberry Bold or Curve? qwerty keyboard ones maybe?

Have you had a look at the Nokia asha range? There have been a few HTC phones with touch screens and keyboards. Also things like the Nokia c3-01 type range

Although why are you not a touch screen fan? All of the " best" modern phones are touch screens

Tough to suggest a non touch screen one but I have no negative comments about my iPhone 4S, had it 2 years and I won't be upgrading anytime soon as I see no reason too yet!

I won't be replacing my iphone with another.

Recently got Caz a Nexus 4 and she loves it. And the only reason I got her that one is because it's the one I wanted :p Well worth a look at, when it is eventually in stock can get it £279 sim free and then get a cheap sim-only deal. My intention anyway

Personally I wouldn't touch a BlackBerry anymore, they're ok as a work tool but having to support them as part of my job I wouldn't pay my own money for one.

I have an iPhone 5 which I really like, it's fast, light and is really nice to use. From my experience the main competitor is the Samsung Galaxy SIII which is also a great bit of kit. Also if the Nexus 4 is anything like the Nexus 7 tablet it'll be a cracking phone too.

Alex it is. Proper android, and fast. And half the price of the iphone5 nothing can touch it really. They can't make enough currently

And I wouldn't get a blackberry myself. Research in motion is in real trouble at the moment it seems. The core features of a blackberry don't really work with smart phones. Small screen thanks to the querty keyboard. Blackberry messenger which most will use something like whatsap. Without the additional charges

I've owned iPhones since I got a 3G for Christmas in 2008. I then got a 4 when they came out in 2010 and I've had a 5 for a few months now. Couldn't imagine having anything else.

I'm exactly the same, had the 3gs and the 4 and 4 years is a long time with them however I opted for a change and got the nexus 4 after getting the necus 7 for xmas. will admit it was a struggle to get on with but its cuz I've been used to apple for so long. I do love the nexus however
