So after Sundays meet and noticing I had a low tyre I've just took my car to a local tyre shop. Turns out both my front tyres have bulges in and one alloy has two cracks in it. Not impressed....

Alloy is £72 and should be done tomorrow morning. 2 tyres £90 each I think.

had the same problem around here tried sending the bill for a new wheel to the local council with picture evidence. they just made up some ******** excuse. never saw any money towards a new wheel

I've already had one tyre which I didn't claim for so this time I going to try getting something, both the tyre place and welding place have both said its pothole damage and to try and claim

Had a look at the funding budgets earlier this year. IIRC it's less than 10% of car tax revenues that gets spent back on the roads.

Yeah I know looked when I had a new tyre before but didn't bother. This time is more costly though.


Think it's something like the average pothole repair is £50 but the average claim is £200 or something iirc.
Work that one out.....

I'm guessing it will be cheaper to pay out the odd claim than fix every pot hole. The cracks and potholes in some places on the way to my work could pass as an earthquake scene, it's shocking.

The roads around here need some serious repairs to make them half decent
