Hey guys, I'm Dan, 19, from Fife in Scotland (seem to be a few of us on here lol)

I currently own a 59 plate Clio mk3 with the 1.2 TCE in it. I've had it coming up for 2 years and whilst I've enjoyed it, I definitely fancy something a bit quicker, plus my insurance is coming down a bit now (I'll be 20 in Feb).

I've been thinking recently about a RS Twingo as I've always had a little soft spot for them, particularly in red or white, are they recommended? And would it be worth getting rid of my Clio for it? I know I can do things to my car such as the remap blah de blah but I really can't be arsed, to be honest.

Any help would be appreciated

Dan

P.S., picture of my weapon...

Yellow Fogs? Good mod ;)

Welcome to the forum matey, where in Fife you from?

Could highly suggest a red 133 (though I might be a little biased). Go for one with a Cup Pack and you won't be disappointed :D

Things to look out for -

Front balljoint rubbers are prone to perishing and the whole lower wishbone needa replaced for these. A lot of users have had this issue and Renault UK have been good at getting them sorted F.O.C.

Scuttle panel has been known to leak and cause damage to the Coilpack nearest the airbox - check and get current owner/dealer to sort.

Standard 195/40R17s (on Cup) offer FECK ALL wheel protection so watch those wheels!

Anything else......yeah, ENJOY IT :D

Matt

welcome.

twingos are not the faster car in the world. but the fun comes when its in a corner, its def a car that makes you smiles

colour wise, the twingo suits all the colours they make it in, there isnt a bad colour like most cars

Thanks for all the replies folks, I'm certainly leaning very closely towards one now! Will just need to sort out the insurance, as well as actually getting some money together to buy one, and of course finding one first!

@madmatt, I stay in Rosyth, about 5 miles down the road from Dunfermline. I have a mate (Abo) with a GW 133 who used to have orange wheels on it, really like his too (not sure if he still cuts about on here but he has the sticker on his window)

@Matt, actually seen that for sale on cliosport! Looks smashing that does!

Just 15 mins up the road from me :)

We've met a few times :) Gone a bit quiet since he was shunted by a Focus though :?

Yours have the square front plate and the wee black wheels? May have seen you at Falkirk cruise a couple of times, love your car if so :D

Yeah someone went into the back of him on the Forth bridge coming back from the last livi cruise... He's been knocking about in a pug 207 courtesy car last month and a bit and got his Twingo back a couple of weeks ago, think it's fair to say he's chuffed to have it back

Of course mate! Always loved the Twingo so naturally I noticed yours, smashing wee car imo.
Had a go of Abo's tonight and I love it! Absolute hoon to drive. Working tomorrow but hopefully Friday I'll ring up insurance to see how rapey that'll be before maybe visiting the dealer on Sunday. I quite like the Silverstone one, actually... :ugeek:

when was i ever quiet

i havnt took him for a go on the twisty roads yet

You thinking of buying new? The facelift in red/black look awesome, older model white and blue suite it. But the silver stone stands out tho.

Post some pics with what you get.

P.s. twingos are fun!! To drive :)

I was looking at them new (they look so good in LY) but I think it'd work out just too expensive, I'd be looking at maybe a 60 plate at the newest? I do like them in black too but it's just finding one to be honest, they're pretty few and far between!

Also madmatt - sure I seen you in Dunfermline the other night at the Esso garage?

BINGO! Saturday night, was running low after coming back from Lochgelly so I needed a little fuel...I forgot there was a shell just up the road however so got ripped off at Esso for pants fuel!

Ha I'm surprised that Esso is still there to be honest it's diabolical, the Shell about 100 yards away from it is far better (even if it is still a rip off)

Was en-route to Livingston Cruise when I seen you, was expecting to see you there!

Never been to Livi cruise, bit of a trek for me tbh.
Falkirk's just across the bridge so frequent that a fair bit :) I'll be there on Thursday if you fancy saying hi :)

It was my first time in livi and it wasn't too bad a journey tbh, about the same as here to falkirk I'd say. Is it on again this Thurs? I was under the impression last month's was the last for the year... I'll certainly say hello if I see you :)
