The gap also looks to taper from wide to narrow. I know renault arent renowned for panel gaps being perfect but that looks well wonky.

Is the sealant replacing clips broken off in a bump?

Maybe try some all purpose cleaner and a soft brush or cloth to scrub it clean. Tyy one of the less conspicuous areas first to see how it goes.
Can the sealant be peeled off and either left out or replaced with fresh white stuff?
