... Some one talk me out of a diesel clio! 4 year deal with servicing included and I can't believe I'm looking!

So far half leather and auto everything... Half the monthly outgoings of the twingo though plus servicing covered. Sad times

I wouldn't normally go diesel but the deal is the same as a petrol 1.2 and I liked the way it drove better, suits the lazy style better I think

Just looked at an aygo but I could be debt free if I got a used 2-3 year old car

Not really. Difference in price cancelled by the fuel economy prices the same for same spec different engine (gt line tom Tom) and it drives far better

Def a lazier drive. I currently swap between the 1.5dci qashqui and the RS133, for the day to day running about I would chose the derv, nicer in traffic, just pulls with out fiddling with gears. On the motorway as well you never feel like you are wringing the dirty diseasels neck. Not a great comparison i know, Some of this will be the obvious differences between two cars that are poles apart.

I came from a modded 1.9dci megane, there is no doubting it was quick, not only off the mark, but very little could keep up with it from 30mph + to triple figures. It was however very uninvolving, blast on a country road wasnt half the fun time you have in the RS133.

Horses for courses.

if you think it will be more enjoyable then get it :)

afterall.. if you hate it, just flog it and get another 133, plenty out there.

Just got rid of my clio 200 for a 1.5 dci megane GTline. Granted the megane is a company car which is why i swapped but i'm perfectly happy with the megane and jesus christ does it cost a lot less in fuel than the clio!

Is the clio the new 1.5 dci stop/start? I wouldn't buy a renault diesel right now unless its one of the stop/start models. The new 1.6 dci in the megane is absolutely epic and im gutted it wasn't available when i ordered my megane.

Diesels are boring to drive, you need to make a concious decision as to what you want from a car. If it's fun, dont go near a diesel.

My car history is peppered with that. A cheap to run diseasel followed by a couple to good fun petrols.

So after looking... The clio is ridiculously expensive compared to others out there for what it is.

I'm after cheap and reducing costs. So looking at a punto Evo petrol. Sisters boyfriend had one over a weekend and it got 70mpg on the motorway. Looks nice, interior far superior. And this has everything on it. To fiat tomorrow. Ill still be about and with her twingo (I'll steal the keys ) so not getting rid of me! Ill save £210 a month in just direct debits before fuel

As nice as the Clio is and I'm sure it's a decent car, it's just a boring old diesel Clio that no amount or torque or leather can cover up.

The Twingo is an amazing drivers car so don't be daft and ditch it in favour of a boring old oil burner.

Fek me. There's quick, and there's 30 minutes quick!

Lol it was only as that's the deal that was on the table.

I'm now thinking perhaps a used warm hatch to satisfy myself for the fun aspect that I own outright. Yaris Tsport is the reserve after this punto depending on the price

Warm hatch + diesel. Save a chunk of money and go for an older Fabia VRS.

Even if you do save money, is it going to be worth it for the loss of smiles/mile?

I lasted 7 months, I'd say that was long enough.
