Basscically I have never been one of the guys to keep my car 'gleaming', but after spending the last 4 days hoovinging, washing and polishing. I've kind of got obsessed with it.

I have always used autoglym products as ive always had it around through either winning full kits down the pub or being given them for birthday/ Christmas,

But seeing hollies mass amount of dodo juice has got me thinking if I should make the change to some of there products.

If people have experienced the use of both products please help me out, do I make the change or do I stick with autoglym?

Thanks, Ben

Ive got quite a few different products, some big names have better polish than others, some have better wax than others, some have better wheel cleaner than others.. The list goes on

My products constist of something like this

Dodo juice supernatural shampoo
Autoglym super resin polish
3m micro polish (for removing swirls with machine polisher)
Chemical guys new look trim gel
Dodojuice blue velvet pro wax
Autoglym glass polish
Provalet safe wheel cleaner
Autoglym rapid detailer to use with dodojuice clay bar

And all are fab, none burn my fingers when i have cuts from work, all make my car gleaming and bead amazing!

Cleaned last weekend

The most expensive thing on my list is the 3m polish, which isnt really necassery unless you got a machine polisher, but you could use other stuff :)

I found a massive microfibre towel to use to dry the car, works perfect and mega soft

Bought about 12 multicolourd small microfibre clothes off ebay for about £5 to apply and buff stuff

No need to go all out on loads of stuff you wont use!

Theres probably few people who could spot the difference between the finish of AG SRP or one of the Dodo waxes

I use dodo juice now and I used to use auto Glym ...

I've tried it all. Autoglym, dodo, chemical guys, zymol (inc the range all the way to vintage), Swissvax, nanolex... I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on...

You'll never notice the difference in a million years.

Products are separated by their value for money and ease of use plus a few have fancy packages, perhaps a certificate and box or pouch to make them feel that little bit more special to use.

Durability is spoken about a lot. How many of you actually wait for a wax to disappear before reapplying? I'm gonna guess close to 0%... In which case durability means nothing

How do know when the wax is gone? I just do it when it when just shampooing it doesnt make it look any better!

Haha totally agree with that mate.

I've used a variety of brands from off the shelf stuff like Meguiars and Autoglym through to online products like Sonus, Chemical Guys, Poorboys, Dodo Juice etc.

To be honest if you take your time to go through all the right steps in prepping and detailing your car, it'll look better than 99% of cars out there. Some of the differences you'll notice with some products are how well some protection lasts and also how easy some are to work with.

Other than that, just buy stuff you fancy trying and go from there. :)

By the way Dodo Juice is good stuff but don't just go for the funky marketing. ;)

you missed the all important smell.

The Dodo stuff (and some others )does smell good for the few minutes your using it. Shame its not a lasting effect

Tbh I've not been impressed at all with the Dodo products I bought.

Tar remover doesnt remove tar for example. Very weak stuff. AG however, I rate their whole product line.

tbh in my experience I have rated the Dodo

Born to be mild shampoo
clearly menthol glass
diamond white wax
red mist quick detailer.

The lime prime polish is reasonably good, though I do use bilberry wheel cleaner for my alloys and ph neutral snow foam.

The Dodo Juice Tar Removers do work. They just require patience, as they're designed to be nicer to use (you don't get a headache when using them, like you might with more aggressive tar removers that work quicker but smell truly horrendous).
