I guess with the first one it's got a fair few miles on it and isn't the more desirable 200 model all be it very very similar.

The thing is that as Renault always do, they tweak a car by a few bhp, minor facelift so watch the market drop for the previous model. Clio 197s are going to be one of the biggest bargains to find second hand.

I remember having a 172 and the 182 came out. Same car except the wheels and tail pipes but the 172s took a real hit because of it.

think I might keep my eyes pealed for some more of these bargains.

currently looking at clio 172/ 182's, as even at the prices shown, the 197's are a bit rich for my money. there are a lot of very tempting cars on ebay that would be great fun to fix up!

I'm swapping to a 197, couple of years older than my 133 but same mileage, slightly better service history, and has cost nothing to swap... The 133 has held its money pretty well

seems like what I might have to do. I think my car is worth about 3 grand, so an older (04) clio 182 would suit me
