hey guys, just got a bmw 328 and had it's rear diff welded, also head hunting a toyota soarer to sit in the garage waiting for me, but i'm wondering outside of stupidly expensive but seriously awesome maxxi's, what would you recommend as a good budget drift tyre that i could buy in bulk??

begginer level, will be doing my first drift by the new year. i wanna know what will be the best tyres to use that i can use with old school steelies on the BMW. i don't wanna shell out for maxxi's if i don't need them you know lol

A Renault Twingo owners club is probably the last place I'd ask tbh lol.

How about you head over to the BMW forums or drift forums?

In that case you definitely don't need maz1's or any new drift tyre to be honest.

Your best bet is to get a load of part worns and get used to the car.

The only time you need decent tyres (read: new tyres) is when you've got faster entry speeds and need the grip to keep the car on complete control.

Where will you be practicing? Most practice days have tyre changing facilities and will sell part worns for a few quid each. These more often than not have loads of tread left and will last you quite a while.

Sign up to driftworks, you'll get all the information you need there.

Agreed with Matt on all accounts.

Especially on the Driftworks front, great bunch of guys and some AMAZING build threads to lool through, ranging from Ghetto as F*ck to a Mazda Pickup truck with more custom CNC work than you can shake a stick at and a VQ35 engine!

Befriend a SMALL tyre fitting place, generally easier, and sort yourself out with part worns from them too :)

As above, local non-franchises dealers have to pay to get rid of their old tyres. You can agree to get them free of charge as they will save money. In some cases it's even even known for people to get part worns AND be paid for taking them (the garage still pays less than their normal disposal prices).

Unfortunately my local places have already been raided by other locals but luckily were all friendly and always swap sizes etc so everyone is a winner :)
