i know i'm new here, so its a bit cheeky to ask this... but, some of you may have had a similar issue and im running out of ideas.

It's not about my twingo, its about my annoying clio (1999 1.2 grande). its recently had problems with its sunroof, and the central locking has never worked (i think they are linked as the locking reciever is right under where the sunroof drips.

anyway! renault want a lot of money to fix the standard locks to work with the blipper on the key. so i was wondering (and have read somewhere) that it is possible to fit an aftermarket remote reciever to the interior central locking button (similar to the twingo has, just down by the gear stick), i have the kit allready that i was going to fit to my renault 5 before it died.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem, as im wondering (and hoping cos its a cheap fix) i can just piggy back the current system of locks with a new reciever linked to the interior button?

OH!! ps the locks work from the inside button, just not the key blipper.

It's certainly possible, I added a receiver on to my old corsa that just had manual central locking, it was a bit hit and miss with the wiring though.

hmm that's what im worried about... no money to get it proffesionally fitted so i'm hoping i can just wire it into the interior central locking switch so that effectivly.... the remote thing that comes with the kit, operates the locks without too much wiring?

getting fed up of opening it with a key, specially as renault central locking only operates one door when you use the key in the door... well the clio and my twingo do. odd!!
