In case any of you Blackberry users are wondering why if you're having problems with BBM etc

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15243892

Millions of Blackberry owners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa have been left without services following a server crash.

Owners of the smartphones were unable to browse the web, send email or instant messages.

The problem appears to have originated in a datacentre in Slough which handles Blackberry services for the affected regions.

Blackberry UK said it knew about the problem and was "investigating".

In a tweet sent around 14:42 BST, the company said: "Some users in EMEA are experiencing issues."

A subsequent statement said Blackberry was: "working to resolve an issue currently impacting some Blackberry subscribers in Europe Middle East and Africa."

I'm not a blackberry user, and agree with you. Was just putting it up here for those that are...

With the impending iPhone release i think its probably the worst time for BlackBerry to bugger up... Going to be losing a fair few customers as it isn't the first time its happened!!

Not sure how they got customers in the first place

We have them as work phones, AWFUL things, absolutely dreadful......

(and thats coming from someone who has a windows phone haha)

As a blackberry user I will just say it was a little annoying at first but no biggie! Although I've been crazy texting today must have sent a few hundred :? lol

Ahhh, leanne, your on to them! They done it because people were using BBM too much and the phone companies were losing money. So if the network "breaks" then you have to text each other!

A few hundred? Crikey, must have been on that thing for hours. Your keyboard wearing out?

I was shocked when i got my statement through from orange the first month i was with them, and i had sent 2974 texts. Was 26 under their "fair usage" as it was at the time for unlimited.
But the way you go will beat that any day haha!

Haha weebob.

Apparently bum is up and running again. Which would explain the lack of leanne around here..

Nearly 3000 text's in a month, Christ. I don't like anyone that much
Who said it was just to 1 person ;)

I can quite happily send 3000 texts a month. I was told orange's fair usage thing is 2500 per month but I've gone over it before and they have never charged extra or stopped me sending texts for going over that.
