Bit of a strange one, the Mrs number plate bulbs have gone.

Assumed is was the cheap LED bulbs although odd both had gone. Just put a standard bulb in and that lit up, clipped it back in place and it's blown!!??

Any ideas? To give you an idea the car has LED rear indicators which always flash fast no idea if that's related.

Annoyingly we're driving from Bristol back to Surrey tonight as well :-(

Has your interior lights failed? They run on the same circuit. If not I feel you may have to much led usage I had the same with number plate removed the brake light leds and all was sorted

No, interior light is fine although that is also an LED but a five LED bulb. Wondering whether it's worth me going for the same five LED bulbs for the number plate. I'm guessing there's a lot less resistance from an LED bulb?

I'm guessing the indicators are not related at all.

Don't know much about LEDs to be honest

the leds are polarised i think, only work one way round

u tried turning it round? i got 4 leds in mine and they are ok. bulb may have just blown though mate, worth trying a different one :)

They were working fine then just noticed tonight both had gone.

Side lights and interior LEDs are all fine.

As far as I know LED bulbs have less resistance hence the car thinking there's no bulb when the indicators flash.

Wondering if it doesn't like the mixture of different bulbs.

Are there any other bulbs in line with the Numberplate and interior bulbs?

Well I've fitted the same bulbs as in the interior light (5 LEDs) so lets hope it doesn't blow them. Certainly hasn't gone straight away like the other that I fitted :)
