I think its called the boot lip!

anyway, I got fed up of my boot lip (the interior bit by the latch hook) and i'm going on a holiday to devon in a week, with bikes, where the twingo will take some abuse.

anyway! i got some velour style carpet from wilkinsons for a fiver... its on a vinyl backing so stretched like the stuff i did the front valance with.

take a look and feel free to comment (as i couldnt think of a better way of doing it). It will do for this week but i will neaten it up after the holidays.

(excuse the messy boot... )

thanks very much :D

It does make the car feel a little bit luxurious, and after just coming back down the lane i live on, it stops my poorly loaded boot stuff clonking off the rear panel :)

Wilkinsons also had a green velour stuff (for snooker tables) so i prosume you can get other colours if you like :D

after the holidays I will try and do a better (neater) job as theres a few rough edges.

Now THAT is a good idea!!!

How many times does a loose jar or bottle clonk against the bare metal on the way home from Tesco?

Or even a metal clasp on a bag clinking against it. Had forgotten my intention to copy this...

IT has saved my paintwork on many occasions :) the material I used has held up very well (wilkos sticky back velour type material) not bad for a fiver mod.

That's really good - I used helicopter tape on mine to stop it getting scratched, but that looks more "upmarket"

Thank you :D

Helicopter tape sounds a lot cooler though! :) the only downside ive notices of my stuff is that it has collected a lot of dust over the past months - most of it came off witha damp cloth :)
