I've been offered a pair of replica bride seats, seemingly made in the same factory as bride. I'm just wondering if they would fit in to the twingo ok and what i would have to do ? Is there any problems I would be likely to have ?

You'd be best to get the dimensions then get a tape measure out in the twingo.

Would probably need a custom subframe anyway unless youre getting universal ones

Mate, by all means, get them but dont believe the "made in same factory" ****.
They are nothing more than fakes trying to reel in punters that they're official seats with "trademarks in Taiwan and Canada"

Get yourself a pair of OMP subframes, a handful of 10mm high tensile bolts and some sidemounts from Demon Tweeks etc.

yeah i took the made in the same factory with a pinch of salt i must say! there from a mate of mine with a silvia so i can always try them for size ect first.. but after that i'll have to figure out how to get them fitted! hopefuly they wont look to bad either!

unless they are second quality or knicked from the factory.

Does the drivers seat need to be adjustable fore/aft for the MOT now, unless its obviously a track, race preped car

They should fit fine matey, I've got a pair of Evo 4 Recaros in mine. Just takes a bit of fettling.

You can but sliders, subframes and sidemounts on Demon Tweeks if you want to get them in.

Just remember, clearance might be a pig with the steering wheel and you will very quickly wear out the sidebolster from sliding in and out of the seats every day :(

And make sure your arse fits in them before you buy

Neil - yes for the MOT the rear seats need to accessible if officially the car was built with them.

will the car pass an mot if there's just no back seats though haha ? if i get the subframes, sidemounts and bolts from demon tweeks i might try and make up another bracket to tip the seat forward if i want to keep the back seats, i work in a fabricators so i'd imagine it could be possible with a little bit of work! but im quite a small guy so i can fit into them no bother just can't see over the steering wheel lol but i'l atleast be able to sit them in the car just to get a rough idea of how it will look! cheers!

You'll still fail an MOT as replacing them for bucket seats means you lose the airbag in the seat, that is assuming you have a GT or 133 of course :p.

Find a friendly MOT tester ;)

Yeah it's still a very grey area and depends on other modifications and how nice the tester is...

Take the MX5 for example - No airbags, no seatbelts (has 6 point harnesses), no sliders and the seat is effectively bolted to the floor. I have a valid MOT though.

i think thats the best idea, im sure i'll be able to find a nice MOT tester around my area.. haha!
