Been wanting some bucket seats for aslong as ive had my car!
But i dont want to buy crazy expensive ones

Been on ebay and found these
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-RECLINING-BUCKET-CAR-SEATS-FOR-RENAULT-MODUS-TWINGO-/251072088400?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a75100950#shId

There not exactly recaros but i guess would be abit more comfortable to sit in than the standard ones!

I asked about fitment and they said they arnt sure what involved with the twingo..
Heres the email

"Thanks for the email.

These seats vary in difficulty to fit according to the car you fit them to but it is unlikely they will bolt straight in. Sometimes the existing seat runners can be used in which case it is an easy job but on other cars you would need to make some adaptor plates, modify the original runners or buy subframes (unfortunately we don?t sell these though). Unfortunately I cannot say how difficult it is on each particular car though because it is not really very clear until the original seats are removed.

Each seat is approx 90 cm tall by 50cm wide by 55cm front to back.

The mounting holes in runners are approx 40cm apart.

I hope that helps and if I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Kind Regards
Susan"

Not at my car till tonight so wondering if anyone can see whats necasary to get them fitted, cause £150 for 2 bucket seats isnt bad at all! But i do understand that you get what you pay for.. Hmm!

As they come with sliders I guess the only requirement would be Twingo subframes to convert the Twingo seat bolting positions to a "standard" bolting position (which I have for sale, as you're aware).

I'd personally say save up more and look at recaro trendlines from a civic type r, Evo or Clio trophy ;).

I think that the ones you posted up would look cheap and nasty and may not be as good quality as branded ones for the price.

My dad has bought similar seats like this in the past for a rally car..

Don't bother.
As waitey said, they are cheap and nasty, you'll find the fabric sags VERY quickly, the foam has a cheap feel and the mechanism isn't the greatest...

If I was to buy aftermarket seats for my car (oh wait, I already did), go for Evo Recaros or Accord Type R Recaros.
Integra and Civic Type R seats, as well as the Clio seats, hold a VERY high premium as they are highly sought after.

ALSO! Be prepared for issues with your MOT due to modification and removal of airbags.
If the tester doesn't deem your car to be "extensively modified", it WILL fail if he's following the new regs.
Same applies for seatbelt pretentioners and any remaining airbags....

I looked at seats from an Evo. Even went to look at them from the seller. I would hvw them redone before anything went in to look as oem as is possible (is it possible? )

I also looked at omp design 2 seats and I'm still undecided.

The seats you could actually fit and then the air bag light off if you find the right resistor. Iirc you can buy them online and recaro make one.

Okay thanks people, saved myself buying bags of crap haha

Get what you pay for eh.. Thanks alot though, will either keep my eye out for some decent second hand or make do with genuine..

Why cant things be simple! Buy and bolt on!

James, the airbag light is a separate issue all together, the modification/removal of OE safety devices - airbags, seatbelt pretentioners etc, have been deemed as disallowed under the new MOT regs.

I realise that but I thought the issue would only be highlighted if the examiner was aware a 133 had seat air bags and if the light was on.

Pretty sure the testers have a database for standard equipment and such.
Remember my mate telling me that his GT4 passed his MOT on Decat because (even though it's a post 94 car), VOSA don't have any data for Japanese Imports pre 2000 and something :p

There's an article in this months Banzai on how it's going to kill the modifying Scene.

Not sure they ever look it up though. Iirc there was a right issue with 182 cups passing on the rear brakes as it appears there's Something missing that was never original fit anyway.

Need to find a trustworthy garage and know that they are fair

IIRC there is some kind of exemption or cars with multiple track related modifications? Or something along those lines...

Yeah it has to be extensive though. But does seem open to interpretation
