I'm thinking of trying out the Dodo Juice products, i've read a lot of good stuff about them and think i should give them a whirl.
Historically i've been using Meg's NXT and before that Autoglym, both good but quite like the idea behind Dodo juice.

So heres the main question, bugs are the biggest issue and the removal of. Is tarmalade the way forward or would the lime prep stuff be ok.

Ideally, i want a wash, prep and wax (The hybrid sounds the biz) to keep it fairly simple for a start.
I don't have the patience to go through too many motions and the 3 stages usually suit me fine, enough effort to make me satisfied without getting bored

Any suggestions for cloths, i've always been a Sponge and Chamois kind of chap, but wondered at the use of Micro fibre, i hate the way it usually feels on my grunts hands :? so have always avoided buying one, but lots of people seem to swear by them.

Was going to ask Matt directly as i've been reading through his site, but thought i'd put it out to a wider audience as well ;)

Cheers

Neither. Tarmalade is just for removing tar and glue and Lime Prime is for polishing/enhancing the paintwork (removing oxidisation/minor scratches and enhancing gloss/shine). The best Dodo Juice product for removing bugs is the newly-released Basics of Bling Detailing Spray. It comes in a 500ml spray bottle and can be used for just about anything, bug removal being one of its many uses, but it's a general purpose quick detailer that leaves a streak-free finish, as well as some temporary protection. Needless to say, it also smells amazingly nice.

Simple explanation: WASH (born to be mild shampoo) - DECONTAMINATE (tarmalade tar remover) - POLISH (lime prime pre-wax cleanser) - PROTECT (supernatural hybrid paste sealant) - MAINTAIN - (sour power shampoo and red mist tropical spray sealant)

Microfibres are fantastic and there is no better type of cloth for detailing/cleaning purposes. Dodo Juice have a 'Soft Touch drying towel' which is super-absorbent for drying the car and 'Basics of Bling Extra-Soft Buffing Cloth' which is super-soft and good for buffing polish/wax off. Dodo Juice also have a 'Basics of Bling Microfibre Wash Pad' which is basically a microfibre coated sponge and is good value for money and is much gentler to paint than a traditional foam sponge.

Kind regards,

Thats 5

What about Wash, Detail (for bugs etc), Polish and Wax, that i could live with every few months.

Then i just have to wash it in between, can i use the Born to be mild for that?
Can i use the supernatural on the wheels as well?

So many product just to clean me car  good job its only little :D

Might give some of the cloths a whirl as well, in for a penny ... as they say :p

Cheers

Sandy

I tend to find quite often that after a good wash with born to be mild all the bugs are long off my car. (I do snowfoam prewash though). Do have a couple of wax layers on my car too...

It's really only 4 stages because the maintenance stage is, effectively, just a quick 'maintenance' wash.

This will be absolutely fine. The only stages you're missing are tar removal and claying but these are not essential.

Yes, Born to be Mild is an excellent shampoo for maintenance washes. I would also recommend Red Mist Tropical, which is really quick/easy to use and tops up the protection. It just needs to be sprayed on/wiped off after washing and it extends the life of the wax/sealant, as well as adding extra gloss and shine with every use.

Can i use the supernatural on the wheels as well?

Yes, Supernatural Hybrid is brilliant on wheels.

One of the many benefits of having a small car.

You won't regret it, as they're both excellent. The Soft Touch drying towel is just for drying and is so much softer and more absorbent than a chamois, much gentler to the paintwork, too. The extra-soft buffing cloths are very much the same, in terms of quality and softness, but are especially for buffing polishes, waxes and sealant.

Hi Sandy,

Again, it was easier to put my responses above, in bold :)

Kind regards, Matt

You're absolutely right! Once the stubborn/ingrained bugs have been removed, a weekly/fortnightly wash with Born to be Mild should take care of most subsequent bugs etc.

Cheers for that. ;)

I sat and studied the products and have sent Matt a wee order for some stuff to try.
Looking forward to getting home now and spending some TLC on all my babies :p

Thanks again

Sandy
