righto!

this has been coming for a while now - when saving for a new house and family, luxuries like a new ish car had to go. so! the twingo hs been traded in for a ford sportka (boo hiss) a grand for the savings account and a car with 12 months warranty was too tempting an option to miss en route to a family car.

so thankyou to everyone on here for the last year and a bit for all the various help my twingo has required. if the new owner of HV59YUO happens to appear on here, let them know it was a well loved car that saw me through a lot of changes and never missed a beat :)

maybe see you guys in a few years with a new twingo 133 when the house and family are up and running!

all the best, god bless.

tommy.

Hope even with letting the twingo go you hang around buddy!

If not, good luck for the future! All the best

If it helps with getting a place to live and grow into, then its probably a good move :)

Obviously, your still welcome just like all the ex twingo owners that still drop in

... And the ones you just cant get rid of

All the best, needs must dude, there is more to life than cars, but I hope the ka treats you well

Gutted you have sold the twingo mate but make sure u stick around :)

Get an rs turbo engine in that ka, will be a whole different animal ;)

Thanks for the replys guys.

I am gutted to see my little twingo on the forecourt of a garage - but i know its the right move financially... for now.

the ka is doing well so far -power is much better than my little twingo- but im sure a 133 in a few years will be much better!

I will still be around taking a look at all of your twingos taking shape :)

Sad for you to see it go, but sounds like the right move for you.

Will be good for you to get a 133 down the line :)

Sport KA's aren't all that bad, a person I know turbocharged hers on FK-OC.com and on the same forum there's Paul with a V6 turbo KA and John with a focus 1.8 conversion ;), also there was someone who had a cossie powered one but I don't know where he went, he just disappeared.

Andy Shackleton stanced his and it looked surprisingly good for a KA!

Steve windham racing (SWR) are kind of the ford tuning people to go to ;)

so basically you have to spend 5 grand + on changing the engine to make them good lol

Unfortunately, none of which seem to be in the spirit of Tommys thinking of saving for a home and family

Thing with the ka is its a piece of piss to maintain yourself

Haha! all of those plans sound like they would make an amazing ka! unfortunately I would still then be left with a ka.

I got this one cheap due to some rust (obviously ... its a ka) but now me and my dad have spent a weekend on it (bumpers off etc - its a minter!

maggi makes a very good point! these car are a complete dream to work on cheaply - due to the large ammount of scrappers out there packed with rusty kas - mods may be a cheap option for me, unlike my twingo. Its a good base to start from anyways :)

I tried to get onto Fk-oc but it wasnt playing so I will try another day. Got to admit -even with only 30 bhp more than my twingo, the ka is so much fun! similar handling to my basic twingo- but with a little bit of poke to back it up!

Met the old owners yesterday when I was at the garage to sign my warranty etc - lets just say.... I have found the reason why my drivers seat leather is looking a little knackered :p

I sold mine last week too...just didn't feel it was 'right' since I bought it. Great car to drive but at the end of the day just not the right car for my circumstances

I have to say that's a good choice of car to replace the Twingo.

My mum had a SportKa for a good few years and I absolutely loved driving it, certainly one of the best handling cars I've ever driven. Power wise the performance feels very similar to the 1.2tce engines.

As you say only downside I found was it was a bit prone to rust and the engine was surprisingly thirsty. That said if you look after it, make sure you keep the rust at bay and don't have a heavy right foot, it'll be a great motor. Engines are bullet proof too!
