....cold start.

now ness motors have had the car overnight to start it from cold and cannot replicate the fault. also saying that on a diagnostic it is also saying no faults.

however, i think this is wrong. when pulling away it almost feels like turbo lag or clutch slip and having had the clutch slip checked for it is not that.

any ideas on this? i have heard about the "re-flash" of the ecu but wanted to know if this should generate a fault when it is hooked up to the computer?

cheers

cheers bud

i've left a message with them to check for the actis solution for me. very frustrating as I know its not as responsive as it was. just trying to convince a dullard mechanic of this though

If you could keep me posted on this, as I took my old red one to ness motors for the same issue years ago, and I got told nout wrong with it!!!

If U get a resolve then I'm taking my silverstone in! Mite take it in anyway! And they mite realise that there are 2 twingos's reporting the same issue and they mite pull there fingers out!!

aye, well i've called them back up and said to look into the actis solution. they said that it does not match up to this vehicle. however, they are "checking the parameters"

other than that i will ask to take a new one out, then go out in mine to compare it. as it just doesn't pull right.

next step i guess is renault head office

hmmm. its just convincing them that is not right.

otherwise a proffesional map would be best way of just getting rid of the problem?

I no! I don't no how to knock it into to there heads. There is a fix for it as other ppl have had it!! Other than gettin them to contact weebobs dealer where they fixed it!

i think so. if i get no further with it today i'll just contact renault direct as there seems to be a known fault, however the info has not been passed to the dealers.

well, what i have been told is that they had a look at the parameters, could not replicate the fault.

however, they have carried out the actis solution to see if it corrects the fault.

wait and see as i still need to pick it up

Ok. got the car back and does seem to be driving better. They could not replicate or find fault however.

This is what ness motors put on the invoice

Advise customer that during starting strategy, hesitatitons may occur for the first few minutes of driving. This is normal for engine type (Renaultsport)

Reprogrammed injection computer with latest software available, carried out roadtest. All ok

So far, I have found Ness quite helpfull and the mechanic that I have spoken to seemed realy helpfull.

I beleive the standard ECU map is designed to get the cat up to temperature quickly, so it starts working. However, this may be at the expence of drivability. It's only an assumption on my part, but the replacement map probably gives better drivability at the expence of heating the cat as quick and is probably not installed as standard due to emission targets and regulations and most people aren't too bothered by the hesitation if there is any.

Having previously had cars with a manual choke and carbs ( you may need to google it  ), madern cars with various map programs for different temperatures etc are rather easy to live with... Unless they go wrong

Na not today.

you'll be able to tell mine at the moment as the front bumper is slightly hanging off because of a lovely person who pulled out in front of me!

Hmm, I did start too wonder if it was u, as when I gave a little flash I got no reply or wen I passed the him and waved, I got a weird look! Hahaha!

On the plus, another rs in the highlands! Lol.

That sucks about sum1 hitting u! Is it just bowel damage? Will it need a re-spray?
