Currently working 48 hours (8:30am - 6pm) a week (with no bloody breaks, except 10 minutes to get my lunch in the microwave) but would like to earn more. So much in life i want to do, but not enough cash!!!
I kind of regret buying my 133 from new as it costs me £250 a month on top of all my other expenses!
Trying to save for a house, and whilst the deposit isn't a problem, i want to have at least £15,000 in the bank to comfortably be able to pay a mortgage and furnish the house whilst still having an income to top it up.
Bascially, i need some more work. I think i can handle more hours as i do 3 nights a week voluntary work for the scout organisation and it's pretty exhausting but managable with my current hours. Might have to stop doing that if do get another job though.

My problem is, i can't think of any jobs that i can do in the evening, that isn't bar work and is only 3-4 hours a night.

I need to be able to start at 6:30pm so i have an hour to change and have some eats and then finish before 11:30pm so i can get home and shower before midnight.
I do a lot of ebaying which gets me an extra £80-£100 a week on average.
I used to print t-shirts and make vinyl signage in my spare time but the money made wasn't as good for the effort i put in, so i won't be going back to that.
I'm quite 'artsy/crafty' and used to make a bit of money making custom table lamps and customising games consoles, but again, time consuming and would prefer some solid income. So those two options are a last resort.

Any how, does anybody have any suggestions or ideas of how i can make a bit of extra cash working in the evening. Really don't want to do bar/restraunt work.
Just been made partner of my dad's business so that will mean i get a small pay rise, but just not enough.
Basically need more hours...if it wasn't for tax and NI, i'd be fine!
Need ideas :?:
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What do you currently do?
Shop assistant/apprentice gunsmith during the day. 5 days a week
Monday and Sunday off.
eBay, Advertising and Artsy work on the side.

Gunsmith sounds pretty cool.

Well apart from showing your dad you wanna take it further and pushing the business forwards (assuming you could bring in more work etc...) to claim a larger profit for distribution or the salary you draw, what about something you can do in your spare time that is restricted to certain hours. I'm not sure what you could do that's related to that, but lots of my colleagues do some book keeping on the side, which goes hand in hand with accountancy of course.

Book keeping? I do all the books for my dad as part of my job. Are you suggesting offering it as a service outside of work?
I'm slowly pushing the business forward, hopefully be trading online within the next year. Pushing him towards buying the business above us when they sell up, that way we can expand the property (as they are already joined by a staircase that is bricked up to make two seperate property's. Then we can have a seperate area for stock and increase the shop size. Better displays and larger variety of items.
I really want to re-locate the business, but it's been here in the same place for 40 years, before that we were 1 street furthur from town. So it's barely moved. Iv'e seen much better property's with better rates and more accessable, but he is stuck in his ways :p.

Temporarily i just need some work to do outside of this job.

I work in the private security and you can get shifts in the morning, evening, night, weekends. They always look for people who can fill in the gaps.

and it earns nicely. I have colleagues who still study at college.

I actually had an offer for this kind of work 2 years ago. (stupidly i declined)
A friend worked for Northern Security and said he could get me a few shifts. Might re-enquire.
Problem is, i assume they need you to do a full night shift. Which would mess me up for normal work. I can onl afford 4 hours a night. Would be very interested in it though. Need to look into that!

Well I only said bookkeeping as it's where my own experience lies and I'm very good at it, and it's more than that. I recently completed a rather complex set of share transactions for my best friends company in order to reorganise it and allow us to file things in the most cost effective manner saving him a few thousand pounds in the process, for instance.

So pick whatever you're good at, and you'll enjoy and see what's available, whether it's locally or online. Good luck whatever you end up doing though!

Security varies from each post you work at. Some have one of the weirdest shifts (hours), others have 9 to 5 jobs.

At my post I have 7h-19h, 19h-7h, 6h-18h, 18h-6h, 8h-20h, 7h30-15h, 15h-22h, 8h-16h30, 7h30-17h, 8h-18h

You say your artsie. If your any good at photoshop just sign up to gaming forums and sell signature banners for some money

It's rather sad but I used to co-run a graphics shop with some guy in America on the most popular runescape botting website. We'd be getting around £100 per week. And we'd employ other graphics artist under our 'business' name and take 25% of what they made.

Im gonna say it. Delivering pizzas, chinese, indians etc. you have a car, its 7-8 pound an hour and u get to keep the tips. Will only be needed in the evenings and will easily be part time

racks mileage on the car unless you don't mind that. Could always work in a chip shop lol

online surveys? If you don't mind crap being posted to you. You can make around £30 an hour. A survey can take around a minute to complete if you use autofill. 30p-£1 per survey.

Chicken a fair few delivery places around me have a company car (usually a very old 106) you can use if your over 21 or with 3 years with a full clean licence.

For extra money last spring/summer I used to wash cars for my local VW garage (outside only ! ) and do a pre and post rental valet on the vans/ cars at the local ford garage - the ford garage was mutually beneficial as I was much cheaper than the OTT service they had before.

As long as you sell yourself to the companies as being a bit cheaper than their current service, they didn't tend to mind doing it in the evenings (my shifts used to be 7 - 10/half 10 depending on the light)

Working in a 24 hour supermarket? Restaurant? Telephone call centre operator? Working in a warehouse? There are loads of jobs that require to work a night shift!

Never work long hours you are doing plenty already. Why live if all u do is work? Especially if its to buy **** you dont need.

Start a new career there are people out there earning big bug bucks and if they can, you can!

Simples!

You only have to go to places like Italy or Australia etc where the emphasis is on leisure time and not work time and those people are so much happier compared to us miserable Brits!

Only reason our country is considered rich still is for the size of our country we work stupidly hard admittedly all that cash goes back to the government but still...
