Woke up this morning to all sorts of carnage going on on my neighbours drive. Not really too happy that there's concrete slabs being broken and dug up with a bobcat right next to my car. There's a small wooden fence between, but I still would have liked to at least been told that this was going to happen so I could move my car if I wished.

Not to mention the relative stupidity of a couple of things I've seen them do. Considering they're not wearing any protective gear at all (not even hard hats), one of the guys walked underneath the digger bucket as it was swinging round to drop concrete into the low loader lorry. Slightly different timing and the outcome would have been very different as a decent size chunk of concrete fell from the bucket right behind the guy.

Good grumpy way to start the new week

I'd set up a camera to record the activities in case of any "problems"

Good idea weebob. Operation impromptu camera stand is underway

I've experienced exactly the same thing about ten years ago.

My neighbours when I lived with the rents decided to have an extension done and their builders were utter cowboys. To give you an idea, they had a grabber lorry come and pick up concrete and swung the bucket over the front of my car (2001 Clio Grande). Another day they then had a barrel of boiling tar on some kind of bodged platform which if it had tipped, would have coated my car with tar.

In other words, I'd be equally p!ssed off mate. It would have been nice for your neighbours to have the courtesy to let you know so you could have moved your car had you wished.

If you have the option of parking further away from what they are doing I would. The only thing I would say is not to wash the car whilst they are working as you'll be risking a lot of dust and potential scratching.

Those builders sound utter cowboys Alex. Bet they had accidents sooner or later.

There is plenty of dust on my car now  . Never really had a dusty car to contend with before. What's going to be the beat way to start off cleaning next time. Straight in with the pressure washer then snow foam?

They really were a joke, luckily nothing actually happened and my little Clio 1.2 remained unharmed.

As you say, a snow foam and pressure wash will be your safest bet.

I got home, parked the car on my drive, and my neighbour came out with a mini nematic drill and started taking the render off the front of his house! B*****d!!! Now my car is going to be covered in dust, luckily I'm far enough away for it not to get damaged by it though!
