It's a sad week for my little twingo as it has its first visit back to the Renault garage.. Its had this noise for a while, when in 5th under acceleration.. It makes this gentle whirring which has progressively got louder.. So I spoke to Renault on Saturday while we were ordering a car and they said book it in.. So they are collecting from my work and then bringing it back!
Which is fine (apart from I might miss the 3000 miles milestone!) but it's the thought of it not being a two minute walk away!

Got the car back from renault today, they still couldn't find the problem. it's going back in next week for a few days to see if they can find the problem :(

That sucks a bit. Have you at least still got the 3k milestone?

nope went over it the other day, but the car was in on 2900ish so it will all get sorted. renault uk said they will pay for any work that the service team that my local garage deem out of warranty..

Just trying to find a company that does hire cars for under 21's?

Erm Most. Maybe your insurance will have to cover it, and they'll cover the extra cost of temp insurance. It's really not as impossible as you perhaps think.

well every company i have searched so far will not hire a car for under 21, so if you know of any send them my way! But tbh i think I'm just going to leave it with RUK and let them sort it out coz I've had enough at the moment!

Well I'm 22. I had an enterprise car last week... All on their insurance. And I had an enterprise car for over a month when i was 19, had to be on my insurance but they paidthe fee for the temp insurance. You must rub people up the wrong way cos you never seem to get anywhere

Well i was just going by what RUK had said to me.. Although after looking into it further, the hire companies vary age due to location is what i seemed to pick up from looking around online.
And as for rubbing people the wrong way, i think most of the time its the people i talk to that are the problem because there are too many that don't talk to me like a silly teenager ;)

Strange I never seem to have that problem :p but I guess it's all part of my job and I've got to talk to people all the time and get them to do what I need all the time

I've had enterprise cars as well and I'm under 23 :? but I've also never had to sort out my own hire car before. renault just asked if I needed one and supply it if I say so.

Yeah i can't see the age being an issue unless you make a thing of it...

Well the age was only an issue when I had spoken to a) the garage who told me their insurance will only cover over 25's, and b) RUK when they said that enterprise only cover 23 and above. The only reason I asked for advice from you guys was so if they said that they can't get cover for me then i could say well actually, and having since been corrected numerous times on here, and after organising cover from the garage anyway, I will receive a courtesy car.

I was only going by what was said from RUK.

Maybe, but that's their insurance. Not their loan car policy. If that's the case, put it on your insurance. Your insurance co will do it, likely for a small admin fee (if you're with one of the admiral insurers, then iirc it was £30 a week for temp insurance) and get the garage/ruk to cover it. I did that once

Loan car insurance is run off the company insurance policy. I know the insurance companys can be funny. But depends what policy they have.

I think national rental (also appear sometimes as europecar) do rental from age 21 upwards

Well I'm not gonna argue or make you understand my point, but there are ways that dealers will allow you to have one, without a lot of fuss. I've told you what I suggest you try.
