ive heard a few poeple say that claying your car after washing it gives better results when sealing, glazing waxing etc. i think i need to invest in some.

is it worth it? anyone recommend a decent kit?

Zaino z13 and dodo juice born slippery. What I use.

It removes bonded contaminants. Means the surface of the paint can reflect the light better and also means whatever you do use will last longer as it can bond better

i use this lube... seems pretty good and works well

Serious note...dodo juice one is good!:)

Ive only ever used the Megs clay kit for £15 cant go wrong comes with and clay bar and lube for beginners

I always prefer claying my car as it makes the paint look like new, I also mix it with lime prime and I get great results before polishing or waxing

I would clay my car but i am too scared i would make a mess of it and it ruins part of my bodywork :/

you havent got a big chance of ruining the paintwork, just look after the clay and make sure it has no bits in and keep re-moulding it so you end up with a clean side and make sure you use enought detailer or your`ll leave clay on the car. Try a small area first and you`ll see a big difference, especially on your car with it being black. :)

I use clay every 6 months just to keep the car looking spanking :)

Megs is my usual but im looking at using something else next. Also just use loads of lube and you will be fine :)

Sorry...couldn't resist.

Starting to think I should pay more attention, detailing wise, to my car.

Dodo Juice Born Slippy and Basics Of Bling Clay are both excellent products and are also extremely good value for money. As others have said, if you use lots of lube and are gentle, you should be fine.

how much do you sell them for?

The basics of bling clay is purely generic yellow poly clay in some fancy packaging ;) I myself was suprised when I opened the box! Not that there's anything wrong with the poly clay, just make sure you keep it warm and soft. If it's cold (ie you're doing it outside) it will be hard and the risk of marring increases.

ALso, before you come to clay... grab some tar remover (tardis or valet pro citrus tar and glue remover I find work bestestest) and let it work its magic then clay. I'm even gonna slot some ironx in between them stages to try and remove as many contaminents as possible without touching the paint. Ironx is, however, the smelliest, most disgusting thing I've ever smelt. And that's the "improved smell" version!

ive already got tardis coz my cars a magnet for tar, keep that in full stock. never seen anything like it.

Monster, how much do u charge for the clay and lube package (sorry)

No problem mate :)

I've now sent you a PM about the clay kit mate. I don't stock lime prime light, as I find that the cut of regular lime prime is more than light enough and I've never really seen the point in having lighter. Others may disagree with me though. I also don't normally stock any detailing brushes but I've probably got loads of them in my detailing kit. If I can find a brand new one, then I'll happily include it for a couple of quid.

Thanks, Matt
