Just casually cruising and my clutch pedal made a breaking sound, and now it's dangling with no tension at all, sat waiting for recovery..
Anyone know how the clutch pedal works? Man said it could just be the wire of clip come undone.. Other than that it could be my clutch from early days of silly driving :(

I had this exact same problem where my car stuck in gear and my clutch pedal was like a swing

Yeah it happened when I was trying to change gear too, it was a while back when if happend I will look through my car stuff n read what the garage said it was :)

Oh no! I have a problem with my gear box at the moment that is being sorted in the week! hopefully yours won't take too long once you know whats wrong with it!

Haha i know.. Got my a new skin for my snare drum on my drum kit and it's sounding sweettt! Was on my way home to play it but it's too late now :(((((

All they wrote in the comments box was,,,

"Carried out Replacement of Pedal Box Assembly Due to Failure.

Cover by Manufacturers Warranty.

Thank You."

Not much help but i think something inside the pedal box gave way, i keep remembering them talking about a cable breaking.

Ahh that sounds like what could of happened.. I'm on 13,000 it's still under warranty isn't it? I bloody hope so, my mate said something about 12,000 mile warranty?

just go in there and kick up a stink, if they won't cover it then contact renault customer services (0800 072 3372) and speak to someone there. They really helped me in my problems after the '2000' miles warranty ran out for 'squeaks and rattles'

Well you have a 3yr Manufacturers Warrenty with an brand new car, you will be fine.

Also they should do it under warrenty no bother.

certain parts of the car don't carry a three year warranty, such as rattles and squeaks as my car is only covered by a two month or 2000 mile warranty! It varies on which part of the car it is. if they notice it may be down to excessive wear and wrong doing then they could void that part of the warranty!!

Hopefully not though!

Well if he has the exact same problem as me, i dont get why i should get it and he shouldnt? :S :/

Well that was my view of the problem i had, my car only being three months old and this happened, someone on TOC had the same problem and got it fixed - i didn't without a call to RUK!

But hopefully this won't be a problem for you :)

It won't be the actual clutch if it went like that... as suggested above it sounds as though it's more to do with the pedal/linkage.

Yeah, it didn't feel anything like a mechanical problem, no horrible noises before or during it happening.. Just like a snap.. A PCSO just stopped and made sure we were fine, been waiting 2 hours! Piss take.. He said it would probably be that as it's quite a new car
