Been checking online for insurance as it's up soon, when i type my reg into comparethemarket.com it comes up saying mine is a "2010 Renault Twingo Renaultsport Silverstone Gp (133), 1598CC"

But mine is not a Silverstone? does anyone elses pop up with the same on Comparethemarket.com?

At least you can change/input the details manually. You double checked your log book to make sure the dealers haven't been silly and registered yours as a silverstone somehow?

Will check the log book, doesn't make a difference in price as far as i'm aware...

Gordini's and silverstones are about £150 more than normal RS twingos for me

If that's the case my insurance will be going down to around £450! need to check around

My last car a new clio, the reg would not work for two years! Worked when I rang them up but not on any comparison websites. Nightmare

Those comparison websites are quite bad for showing up the wrong car - for a while I didn't notice it had my old car as a "Clio Dynamique S Turbo" which seemed right enough, it was only when I went to renew and I searched manually finding a "Clio Dynamique TCE" (which was correct) and it was a good few hundred pounds dearer!

Don't worry, they still show a BMW 325ti on my plate,,,, I owned that 3 years ago

Just done a quick check, with the 3 options, going by reg (showing as a silverstone) £598, Putting in Renault Sport 133 £585, putting it as a Renault Sport Cup 133 £585

My insurance is due soon, so thought it worth while seing if anyone would quote. Mine came up with the correct car.

Marine engineer - Offshore oil and gas (so a fairly high risk)
Ticked all the boxs for mods- Spoiler, different alloys, non stadard engine, remapped ecu, miscelanious engine alterations, suspension changes, dashboard changes, stickers and graphics.

Two quotes for fully comp protected no claims:-
£212 with £250 volountary and £120 compulsory excess :)
£1066 with £550 compulsory excess

Bizzarely, for third party F+F. The first company goes up to £265 and the second company no longer give a quote

No excess and your insurance goes up 5 fold! ha
Playing around with the excess and, for the first company, making the volountary excess anywhere between £100 and £500 doesn't change the premium, only the total excess.... I wonder which I will choose
