Guys and Girls,

I have been gone for ages..... but those who know me will know the large decals i have on my GT, i am thinking about removing them.

My question is, once removed, what will the paintwork be like underneath? they have been on for approx 6 months, the car is black.

I cannot attach a picture as i am at work, but if you view my progress thread below, it will show you the scale of what i plan to remove.

Any help will be rewarded with virtual beer tokens!

Cheers

Dude won't be much at all. Nothing you can't sort if it does look discoloured around it anyway. Always happy to lend a helping hand

The adhesive won't damage the paint at all however depending on how often you clean it and what your method is you may find that there are less swirls where the stickers have been. Nothing a good polish won't sort out though.

The hardest part with weather conditions as we have them now is that the stickers will be very brittle and will break into pieces as you remove them, making the job a bit harder. Unless you have access to a garage and a heatgun?

The second challenge will be the adhesive removal which will be relatively easy but time consuming with some form of glue remover.

Well i have that DA turning up tomorrow so if it is a mess i will have something to tackle it with.

Just though it would remind me of all the ex royal mail vans with the signage removed lol!

I can get hold of a heatgun no problem just was unsure about what would be under the stickers

Won't damage the paintwork, especially after only 6 months... You might want to clay it where you've taken it off as it sometimes leaves little bits of adhesive on the paint but nothing major
