Well! When I came down to my car this morning I was met with the following situation - I was running late for work (exciting and admin-y as it is - I couldn't be late) So I ended up getting a lift in with my very kind neighbour... who I now owe a pint or few.

Anyway- back to the problem. during the night, my gfs clio has rolled down the drive, gone through the gates (not bolted, just pushed closed at night) and banged into my Twingo that I park across the bottom of the drive while we get the lock fixed so nowt gets nicked.

The problem doesn't end there - Believe it or not (as im sure this will sound like a rather elaborate attention seeking story) my GF is away for the next two nights, with the one key for that clio... it is leaning on the twingo and bending in the door a bit (not sure if its a dent or just bowing while the clio is on it) So I cannot move the twingo without the clio scraping down the side, I cannot drive the clio as its locked and I have no key, No one can get access round to the front of the clio to tug it.... ARG!!

I chocked the clio before I left so no more damage can happen - any Ideas on how to move either of them? my dads ford ka is infront of the clio, while he too is on holiday.... is a ka able to tow a clio? if so... how! ?

Brilliant xD
Sorry, but it's such a bad situation it's quite funny.
Rather than trying to push the clio, try turning the actual wheels while a friend keeps moving the chocks?
I play tricks on friends, they put handbrake on, but by using all your force on one rear wheel, you normally combat the handbreak and move their car somewhere else.
If the car has managed to roll it's self, you might be able to move it that way.

At least the gates didn't swing open and hit your paintwork!

TBF after kicking the clio and realising the twingo couldnt move, I had a bit of a giggle :p

The handbrake on the clio is a bit dodgy, lets go from time to time then seizes solid other times.... I hope this isnt one of those times. - Knew I should have got it fixed properly, darn!

the gate nearest to the driverside of the clio has missed my car by a batter of a cm or 2. Luckily i was only in work this morning as I can now set about the advice you gave :) Im also reluctant to use the Ka to tow the clio off my car as its my dads pride and joy, so if anything happens to that he would be gutted.

My nice neighbour is coming round in a bit so we will set about moving the clio - somehow !

I phoned my GF and double checked that she has the clio keys - she does but she informed me the boot lock doesnt work ... so in theory the clio boot is unlocked, I dont want to try it as (as you can see from the picture) the twingo mirror is resting on the boot lid, so if i fold in the mirror to open the boot a tiny bit... the clio may roll back further even with the chocks.

ARG! cant afford a new door if this goes wrong.

I have decided Im going to use the KA and a tow rope to move the clio as I was unable to push it even an inch. odd situation.... not too sure who to be angry at :p my Gf for taking the keys, me for not fixing the gate, me again for parking there or renault in general for making the cruddy clio in the first place !

Watch this space!

twingo is 6 months overdue for something bad to happen to it.
Tempted fate?

lol, just read that....

HAHA!! I actually wrote that at work after this had happened, for some reason I presumed it would be an easy job (ignored thinking about it as I had some finishing off to do before the manky deadline)

Last time I had a crash I tempted fate! went past a woman on the motorway who was in the outside lane going 70... so i drove like a complete tool and undertook saying to my passengers "stupid car sitting out there, useless driver" (or words to that effect.... just after I left at the next junction I merged lanes into the side of a fiesta.... felt like a reet idiot :p

free'd the twingo now, me and a mate pushing the clio forward (as we could find a tow rope) got it to move just off the twingo while the neighbour got in the passenger door and moved it forwards - stressful to say the least!

(yes the clio rolled back into the road - as the handbrake is cawful we were able to push that back onto the drive - i didnt even know the drive was that slopey! )

I will be ensuring the clio is fixed and in gear from now on! I have also got a new padlock for the gates (well its a bike lock, but still works! )

When I see this stuff online on forums i always think "pah - I bet this is a 12 year old kid trolling or something" - I couldn't have imagined most of it lol! thats why I took my phone out to grab pictures (well, mostly to bbm them to my gf to make sure I get a nice present from her holidays hehe :p )

any damage?

Well I'm not too sure - the door looks a bit bendy but the car is dirty and wet at the moment - so I will give it a wash this afternoon and look closely at it.

if there is any, it isn't bad - the only clear thing I can see is some white scuffing on the plastic rub strip thing.

May have got away with this one!! :D :D :D

Oh my days I should laugh but I did!! Mate I suggest you say nothing in future as you jinx yourself!!

Glad it's all resolved now!
