Can anyone look at their drivers seat and tell me of theirs is the same? Appears after sliding the seat far forward (usual position is far back).

Been into Renault and apparently they couldn't replicate the fault yet when the car got home I checked and what would you know... It's staring right at me.

The seat also wobbles however I'm not sure whether this is usual when the seat is back or if it's because of this little thing. I've always had the seat right back and only noticed the wobble recently (sliders don't wobble but the seat does).

Mine doesn't look like that.

Theres all the square punched holes in the bottom of the rail but I think the silver bit should be somewhere within the seat section of the slider and move forwards/back with the seat

That is normal - that silver thing is the device that remembers the seat position - just messed about with mine and managed to get mine to do it by setting the driving position far forward - then folding the seat forward as if to get in the back.

least thats what i think it is - very similar to all my old clios - our current ones do it too (t reg and a 11 reg) so im guessing the twingo showing this little silver clip is perfectly normal.

the seat wobbling isnt normal though - still worth checking it out.

If the seat slider lever (infront of the seat) is used, the silver bit should move with the seat. With the seat slid fully forwards using the slider lever, both mine and Karens the silver bit is hidden.

With the seat slid all the way rearwards and then the seatback tipped forwards and slid forwards to allow access to the back seats, the silver bit appears

That ones not mine :( The dini is an absolute tip at the moment

i got the impression from Matts first post that the silver bit could be seen from sliding the seat forwards, using the slider lever (not folding the seatback forwards and then sliding forwards for access)

ah! I understand! if that is the case (that the silver bit doesnt hold on to the seat when using the lever based adjuster) then matts seats may be broken - mine only show that silver thingy when the seats are all the way back for a driving positon, then tip the seat as if to gain access to the rear seats.

My seat rocks a little bit Matt, no loads though, you can just feel it when you brake hard and then let off the brake again, a little dull knock as it rocks on the left hand only.

This didnt used to happen so i will have it out the garage tomrrow and have a look
