What's everyones drive to work like?

I have the option of country roads or the motorway.. i always go the country roads as they are much quieter and nicer.

The best part about it is the fact i get to drive through a deer park, its always nice to see the animals up close every day (just hate it when they run across the road!)

So come on, anyone else have any nice/fun drives to work?

5 miles of dual carriage way, followed by 30 miles of motorway and then 6 more miles of dual carriage way all the way to the office. Boring as! There is a country road way which is absolutely amazing but it takes an hour longer so only go that way if the motorway is blocked.

heavy traffic for the full 1.2 miles I have to travel.

If im having to drop my sprogg off at nursery it makes the journey about 3 miles, which can take 40mins.

Yes it would be a shag load quicker to walk but I need the car for my job.

Ive leavin at 4am for work this week So it's quite roads and plenty of bloody foxes out standin in the roads

busy A-roads for 26 miles, the A4 isnt a bad road and its wide enough for about 6 cars so you can overtake slow traffic. I do get stuck behind alot of tractors thou which isnt great.

Mines just a short drive through town about 3-4miles can take up to half hour some days!!

Urban journey for me - not too much traffic. Bit of a roundabout trip as I drop Mrs-H off on the way.

Sometimes we detour slightly (less than ½ a mile out of the way) and stop off for an ice cream on the seafront on the way home.

Mine involves sitting on my butt, iPod plugged into my brain and chilling out for 30 minutes on the train, followed by a 20 minute walk.

Commuting by car, for me at least, takes all the pleasure out of driving. I used to commute 13 miles each way to work. Were some nice roads for spirited driving but an averag of 13mph all the way there was wasting a waste of a Clio 172. Been up in the city for the last 6 years now and wouldn't go back to commuting by car if I can avoid it.

6-7 mile drive along a promenade (no, not the pedestrian bit) on the north coast of Wales. Slow and after god knows how many years, boring

Mine's a 5 mile journey, through busy town centre roads at rush hour, but the office park I work on is in the countryside, so I get the best of both worlds (country roads and town centre roads)! My journey normally takes 15 minutes on a good day, on a bad day it has taken up to 45 minutes.

A bad day is usually when there's been an accident on the motorway and the town centre becomes congested as people follow diversions, etc. Fortunately that only seems to happen once or twice a month.

I do try and vary my journey when I can. I get fed up of going the same way after a while, so I have about 3 or 4 different ways I can go, and will occasionally just for a change of scenery.

how far do people drive to get to work??

been looking at jobs today and some are 10-20mins "happy days"
but some are an hour+ so wondered how long people think is a "normal" to drive to work??

for me... anything between 30-1 hour each way

^^ I'd say thats about average for traveling to work. my journey can take from 10mins - 30mins

Very boring and through a area you do not wanna stop if you don't mind your wheels been stolen lol. If i do the early shift takes 10 - 15mins to get there, the later shift about 30mins.

Thinking of cycling to say on the fuel bills.

Mins a two mile journey along a b road then I'm at work :) wish I didn't have to drive everyday but roads not safe enough for the bike and the bus journey takes over an hour! Is nice on the way home though windows down music loud :)
