right i went to a massive meet last night and keep hearing these dump valves when it dumps its a high pitched / squeeky not a wooshh sound. dose any one know if its a spring in the bov or just a certain style

Depends what kind of dumpvalve you get and on which car they're being used.
I have a Forge reciculating dumpvalve.. sounds alot more stealthy than an atmospheric dumpvalve.

Hell, on youtube there's some guys who put a duck whistle on their Subby.. I couldn't stop laughing

sam, there is a dump valve in the 'for sale' section, very good price and comes with all of the different springs so that you can set it to go 'wooosh' at different points!

i already have a good bov but want one the got a higher pitch sound

the BOV piston fluttering open is like a ball bouncing, how the frequency gets higher and higher until it stops?, and it’s more of a whistling sound you know? Instead of gravity pulling on the ball, and the ball having less and less energy, bouncing lower and lower until it stops. The BOV flutter is blowing off some air, and less and less air is released until it stops. It's basically from too tight of a spring. The air starts to get out, and then the pressure drops too low to compress the spring and keep the BOV open so it shuts, then the pressure builds again, so same process, it just doesn't open as long (why the sounds gets higher pitched)

True there is ;)

I ran flutter for a day for the hell of it... Wouldn't reccomend it though as it kills turbos by forcing air back through the system, but it did sound awesome lol.

The sound you're hearing is probably a HKS one as they are awesome but a genuine one is over £200.

Suppose to be bad as some air goes back into the turbo, but There are people running flutter on High powered cars that have done for a long time and have no issues.

But I wouldn't want to put extra stress on the piddley 1.2TCe turbo as it works hard enough with a remap
