just loooking at some manuals for vibe and one has a instructions to build a proper box for a sub you buy on its own ! so simple turms u can build a enclouser insted of buying one that wont fit in your car so can build one that will fit and have the required volume as u would have have in a enclousure that doesnt fit in the boot !
https://www.vibeaudio.co.uk/support/subwoofers/ then click on black death subwoofer manual :D
it may look confusing but if take a lil time to work it out it becomes understandable !

Not taken a look at the website but whenever I've had subs I've made my own boxes. Albeit they weren't great as my woodwork skills are crap but they were exactly what I wanted.

I would change my mind every few months, rip it all out and build a new one. The amount of MDF in the shed now is pretty amazing lol.

The only thing to bear in mind when building your own is ensuring that you've got enough cubic air space inside the box to cater for the specific sub. Each make/model of sub will have a different requirement and not giving it enough or giving it too much will kill the sub and make it sound rubbish.

You also have the option of a sealed box (punchy bass) or a ported box (looong bass lines). When building a ported box you also have to "tune" it by ensuring the port is the correct diamter/length. There are plenty of calculators online, just Google "sub box calculator" or similar.

Well all what you said is all in that black death manual lmao ! Including all the calculations to work out the size of the box and to work out the size of the port :p as also if u buy the b.d on it's own it tells u how to build the enclosure for it.
