Well today I had the intentions of spending a full day using the new dodo juice products I received last week from Matt (Monster Detail). Great service from Matt and will definitely be ordering from him again
The new stuff I ordered from Matt:
1 x Dodo Juice Basics of Bling Protection Wax 100ml
1 x Dodo Juice Supernatural Micro Prime 250ml
1 x Dodo Juice Basics of Bling Clay 110g (2x55g clay bars)
1 x Dodo Juice Born Slippy Clay Lube Spray 500ml
1 x Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out APC Ready-to-use Spray 500ml
1 x Dodo Juice Blue Roo Microfibre Polish Applicator
1 x Dodo Juice Basics of Bling Finger Mitt Wax Applicator
2 x Foam Wax Applicators
Well with the expected bad weather I though I'd spend the first few hours and get the interior out of the way.
For this I used Meguiars Supreme Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant. I use this for all my interior plastics, external black plastics etc.
I removed the car mats and was greeted by a dirty footwell (the plastic). Completely forgot to clean this last time. The pedals were looking a bit worse for wear also.
Some water and car shampoo sorted out the footwell and helped remove general dirt from the pedals. Then I used some Autosol Metal polish and a microfibre cloth to clean the pedals up nicely.
I then went around the car wiping down all the rubber seals
I came across a few small rips, worth chasing this up and getting them replaced under warranty? Or is it not worth it? This one is along the top of the passenger door seal (on the actual car not the door):
Also, came across a bit of rust and corrosion
What should I do about this?
When my car had a service and mot done at Arnold Clark....the day I got it back I got home went to hold the bonnet open with the support arm, no problems there however felt a bit flimsy. Then when I went to close it the arm hit the top of the headlight housing and scratched it. I then noticed the arm looked slightly out of shape. I connected the garage asking do they know if anyone tried to close the bonnet while the support arm was still upright, they denied it. I complained the RUK who paid for Arnold Clark to send me a replacement which took around 2 months.... Today I finally fitted the support arm. It was a case of popping out the old one, popping out the plastic/rubber clip and replacing both parts with new. It fitted like a treat like it originally did. I compared the new arm to the old one and they didn't line up the same at all. If you positioned two same ends together, the opposite ends were in different positions. Not sure went on there then at all, my guess is they stuck a spare arm on they had lying around.
This is how it is now, how it should be and was originally
This is how it scratched the light (I forgot to take a photo with the bent arm so I've just positioned the new arm myself to show you what I am on about)
The arms are closily matched in length even though the photo doesn't show it
And this would be a good time to say that the Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out APC worked a treat on that seat stain
I decided to put the standard 501 bulbs back in the sidelights as the LED lights had started to either flicker or one would work and the other wouldn't. I did have LEDs for the rear number plate, inside the boot, the interior light and the sidelights. Now I only have LEDS for the boot and the interior light. The rear number plate and sidelights are back to standard as they would just not stop flickering. The LEDs where bought from on here can't remember who off, but surely I shouldn't be having those problems?
A photo taking in blackpool when the LEDs where working!
Typical, I had just made up my two buckets for the wash, and I had all my products out ready to use. Then came the snow. Decided call it a day! So the claying, polishing and waxing will have to wait till the weathers slightly decent.
Here's a few photos from today although the outside hadn't been cleaned
