Would someone be so kind as to pop outside for me look at the rear suspension and tell me if the rear suspension is on a McPherson strut or independent shocks and springs

Hugs

Independant shock and spring/ The spring is inbetween the rear axle and the body

See i do it different to that.

Jack car up
Remove lower strut bolts
remove springs
New springs in
lower car on jacks
replace bolts

I think the guys knows he need to jack the car up lol.

I find my way easier an much quicker . but six and half a dozen and all that jazz.

Karls way is the way that I would do it. Lower shocker bolts are easy to get at and you can do it all on the flour without disturbing boot trim.

Always worth stating the obvious, though.

I once read the Haynes Manual instructions for adjusting the clutch on my old Citroen GS (ask your dad - or grandad!!!), and it said something like:

1. Remove clutch housing
2. adjust clutch to "x" mm of tolerance
3. replace clutch housing
4. Replace engine in car as described in Chapter 1.

Didn't say anything about removing engine, and I was glad I read point 4 before trying the first three points.

Needless to say it ended up being done by the garage, and needless to say it was expensive.

But that was a lovely car when it worked
