getting extremely bored sending out CVs and p*ssed off that the boot metal work is all scratched from shopping trips etc.
50% of the time the car is left striped at the back and the damn tin of beans rolls out onto the bear metal, so in my extreme borediness i might make a fibreglass floor plan to save damaging body work when transporting food or spare wheels when we go to track.

i kind of ghetto it when i do fibreglassin and carbon. most people use wax on the surface so the resin/sheets dont stick... have you seen the damn price of the liquid stuff or such a small bottle. now brown tap is the smart mans way, the shiny side doesn't allow the resin to bond to it allowing skin caste to be piled off.
thinking i might to up to wear the carpet starts in the back, and tape down the hole floor and tyre well and coat over it for flush skin. might remove the side panels as there normally removed on track and tape up there and skin it. thinking i might do one left side then right. if i tried doing all in one go i wouldnt be able to get it out of the car if access to the metal is needed.
might see how this goes, would love to do it in carbon but sheets i normally get aint large enough, would have to order the size that is used for skinning bonnies which starts to jack up the price in layers, but could lay down fibreglass, kevlar so its not brittle and then top layer carbon.

was thinking it might do some tyre well skins for people, as i dont know about you but i use my cup wheel for a spare and dread everything i put it back in with scratchin it and leave a towel at the bottem. would people be interested in it, not made from carbon or for show just a bit of protection, although i do want to order some carbon with blue weave strands ;)

Put the carpet back in! lol

It takes half a second to take out and put back and weighs nothing. Problem solved.

nice carpet but doesnt cover the metal on the boot catch part and also the tyre well.
plus having the floor done in carbon adds the extra bling factor. oh yeah! until they look closer and see the weave paterns dont line up 100% hehe.
carbon is becoming a fetish like my 4-pit crave lol (my pride and joy is a carbon cup mug :D)

Be careful with the catch area if you do it - there's surprisingly little clearance between the catch and the swing of the boot so the fibre would have to be fairly thin.

cheers for that. i think when we head up for silver stone last year, didnt have any alloy protection bags and side panels where taken off/boot caroet gone and them plus tool box did a number on the inside paint job.

It happens. I can't say I know of a car that gets driven to trackdays with tools that doesn't get scratched.

have you got tyre bags Al? seen some on demon tweeks 50quid for to i think it was, very tempting. at moment their kept in black bin bags under my bed :(

i believe they call it, "show boating" with a picture like that :p
lol
where did you get yours from?

lol It's the only one (well there's one other like that) that shows the tyre covers.

Got mine from DT ages ago.
