Owned my twingo GT for about a month and a half so far. Im 19, Its my first car and so far I'm enjoying my little twingo. Im a Mechanical Design Apprentice, I live in Canterbury and commute to Thanet everyday. Ok thats me, now the Car...

Its completely stock, only got 35 and a half thousand miles on the clock and I spent the weekend giving It a bit of a service. Changed the oil, oil and air filters and plugs. Now to the question... after spending 2 and a bit hours looking for the fuel filter to replace it, I decided that it must be in the fuel tank. Even though being told otherwise. Looking for confirmation that the filter is located outside the fuel tank and if so where the fecking, feck have Renault hid it!

it's in the tank as part of the sender unit, doesn't require changing until 140k at which point it's new sender unit time :)

ps i'm a renault trained tech so you can trust this advice...maybe ;)

As I suspected! I did search the form for "fuel filter" befor posting and it showed no results. Thanks for the advice anyhow. I know they don't need replaceing frequently, I just thought I mite as well while I was under the car. Thanks again.

don't worry about it, on older type cars with external filters i always change the fuel filter yearly too regardless of service recommendations. silly not to especially when it's £5 a pop!
