I read a fairly useful tip last night for those wanting bucket seats (and for that matter anything else FIA stamped)
The FIA homologated of parts is only valid for 5 years from date of manufacturer, after then it cannot be used in professional use competition.
So because of this there are now several ex-homologated seats and parts appearing on eBay for a fraction of the original cost.
For us road users this will make no difference - they aren't broken just expired. Think of FIA products as having an expiry date yet are entirely still safe in the same way an OEM seat wouldn't suddenly be defunct after 5 years.
Food for thought anyway....
