Front end paint job

Hi all was considering painting my number pate recess on rear and blacks on the front gloss black? Will paint take to the grill on the front? I see new twingos have the front black but I'm unsure if it's paint or vinyl around the plate? Help!!

Mine is painted on the number plate thing but not on the inflow vent thing, that's matt on mine ;-)
