So, a common conversation these days seems to be about petrol prices and the rise in them, etc.

Well, you'll be pleased to know that yesterday (08/05/2011), 150 people including lorries, farmers, bikers and car drivers, travelled on the M53/M56 motorways up to Stanlow oil refinery in convoy at 20mph. Some have chosen to remain at the plant overnight and it was originally thought the blockade could last a few days.
However, on arriving at Stanlow, the protestors made no attempt to blockade the plant (possibly due to police presence), but were advised that the plant had ceased operations for a number of hours.

Let's hope the greedy Government actually do something this time! They introduce a fair fuel stabiliser, which is supposed to reduce tax when the cost of oil increases, and increase tax when the cost of oil decreases. The Government introduced this system in April and reduced the fuel by 1p.
However, this "Fair Fuel Stabiliser" doesn't seem to have acheieved anything, as petrol prices have just started soaring again.

What are your thoughts on this? Should more fuel strikes and protests be taking place?

Nothing will be done.. Fuel prices will always be a joke and the government will always be a bunch of c**s!
