new to this site , had my rs133 since feb, amazing cars!
looking to see what other modifications i can do to my car for more performance and was hoping i could get some info from this site , i had seen a photo on google of an rs133 engine bay and on the left there was a canister next to the air con pipes and it had 2 pipes coming from it and one went into the air inlet hose between the throttle body and k&n filter and i couldnt see where the other pipe went, however i wondered what this part was and what it did to the car?? thanks guys

that would be an oil catch can. no doubt mike healey's ?? it's main purpose is to act as a filter through the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) lines to filter out the oil residue from the crankcase gasses and to collect the oil in the cannister and then let the gasses pass through as normal into the inlet manifold to be combusted. it really offers no performance gains other than tarting your engine bay up a little bit. the only thing it would do is stop your inlet manifold from having a small coating of light oil barely noticeable

Yes, it would be an oil catch tank, which wouldn't harm performance, but its going to be a negligible difference unless your engine is worn and blowing a lot or oil mist into the intake. Mine didn't even gather a single drip over 6000+ miles.

Available mods are getting better but still limited compared to other mainstream cars. Now the ECU is finished, I'm waiting to see the outcome of the throttle bodies, cams, head porting and full replacement exhaust :?

It's really just a case at the moment of if there's something you want doing asking a reputable tuning house to help you and using your car for the development work but at the moment ktec racing and Kam racing are the only two retailers that really spring to mind for twingo performance mods.
Neil's thread is good to see a lot of what's available performance wise
Off the top of my head the performance mods I can think of are:
The one that most people get is a BMC panel filter for about £45 other filters available are a BMC CDA induction kit, you could also make up a kit yourself with a decent filter and some silicone hoses.
There is a few exhaust systems available, I've got a super sprint catback from Kam racing and ktec also do a full decat system as well as the opportunity to buy each part of the system individually (back box, centre section, and decat manifold) another thing that people do is remove the silencers from the exhaust which probably doesn't offer any performance increase but makes for a different sound.
There is a range of pads and discs available as well as braided hoses.
There are about 3 or 4 different sets of lowering springs available as well as a bunch of different sets of coilovers.
Neil has had a set of cams put in by ktec and ktec now offer this out as one of their products but it is quite expensive, Neil is also pioneering the work on throttle bodies as well as a standalone ecu which has pretty much just been finished which will hopefully allow extensive tuning and the chance for easier tuning via better maps than are possible on the standard manufacturer ecu.
Not sure if I missed anything :/ hopefully that's all the main bits and bobs covered! Now it's just up to you to dive in and get a mod addiction aha!
