well i want to go a bit further then just waxing the car and i was wondering about glaze products do they really give a boost to the shine then just a wax ?

i use a meguairs NXT 2.0 wax and heard about some ppl used poorboys black hole and that they found it very shiny effect for the car also was wondering about white diamond by poor boys

i gona use it on the malta blue color so wich is best as a glaze or other wax to get maximum shine out of my dini :p

Go for the Poorboys Black Hole. It is a good product if you are trying to mask a few swirls and add a bit more gloss.

I've used it after I've done a full corrective machine polish just to add a bit of bling.
If you havent got a machine polisher it is worth using.

Its good on darker colours, even reds tbh.
White Diamond is better on the whites, silvers and light coloured cars.

yeah i wanted a machine polisher but the downside is i have to wash my car ALWAYS outside i have no option to get in a garage wish i had one tho  , and im afraid cause if its windy and sand and all other debris gets on the car and then if i use the machine polisher its probably a sand-grid polisher on the car :?

so yeah i have to do everything "old school" by hand ever tried it by hand the product the black or white product ? is it easily applied by hand ?

Piece of cake by hand or machine.
It just as well applied either way.

Ive just machine polished the bonnet and roof of my gordini and the paint is not too hard so a decent hand polish with something like dodo juice lime prime will achieve decent results and because it is filler heavy will help to mask remaining swirls.
Followed by black hole you will get a good finish ready to seal and or wax.

Mines got 3 layers of Werkstatt sealant on.
2 layers of wax in coming weeks to make it bulletproof.

I machine polished mine in the garage for the first time.
Every other car ive done over last 5yr has been outside.
No worries, any dirt on surface can be easily rectified by the machine!! ;)

I'd give a vote for Poorboys glazes, I've got Blackhole and White Diamond and both are easy to use and leave a nice finish.

It's certainly worth considering adding a glaze to the usual clay, polish and wax routine! :)

IMO, a grit guard (and second bucket) is the best value product avaliable. Many hours and a lot of money is thrown ar correcting or masking scratches and swirl marks. Reducing damage at the wash stage can only make good sence ;)

Nice kit Ghostz.

Two buckets as singlespeed says is key to minimising carrying grit and dirt back on to your car.
I bought two clear buckets from polishedbliss.co.uk for something like £4.99 each.

You can see how much dirt gets left in the 'rinse' bucket, and your fresh shampoo bucket stays lovely and clean. ;)

Claying is a fantastic stage to leave your car sliky smooth.

For the wheels you want something that is acid free. I think the AG custom is, as for the AG Clean Wheels that is very aggressive and acid based so avoid (as you have done)
I use Bilberry.

Gotta agree with the above, a grit guard and a second bucket are a really important part of your detailing gear. Especially for a car that gets driven every day as they obviously get the most dirty.

The only other way to keep a cars finish near perfect is not getting it dirty and cleaning it when it's virtually clean anyway haha

thanks for all the tips guys i was still wondering for the glaze product can i use the same foam pad i use my wax for the car, as also put the glaze product on the same foam pad ?

I want to chip in...

Grit guards help. But technique is as, if not more, important as the tools. Using a grit guard but applying loads of pressure with a wag mitt will still create just as many defects or more. By simply taking water from the top of the bucket and using 2 buckets you can avoid picking up dirt. Although I will agree a grit guard does keep a lot of it at the bottom still. I use them, and 2 nice buckets, but technique is still the most important element.

Forget having the right tools for a minute and look at how to use what youve got.

Damn it.. at least you can wash your car at home Ghostz. Both my parents don't have a drive-way or a garage so I have to bring it to a self-carwash.

Problem there is that with the soap dispenser is that it comes out the lance with the brush on. I refuse to use the brush on my car so I just let the foam poor out of the lance onto the car.

Problem is that if its too warm the soap dry's up too fast with leaves me with dryed up soap marks.. so frustrating to decently clean my car :?

Maybe if I used a couple of buckets with water and soap I could wash it on the street.

you can get some good buckets with sealed locking lids which are almost leakproof.

A bucket of soapy water with you and rince off with the lance :)

Thing is though, you're not allowed to bring your own cleaning products in the self-carwash.. but then again. I could complain about the brushes on those lances is the same is washing your car with sandpaper.

wash it on the street :p thats what i would do can be that you will get some spectators :D , i wish i had a garage tho... cause if i washed the car and i look at it there are already like 6 bugs sitting on top of it and a bit of dust .....

Halfords stuff megs nzxt is best, it has the most bite and finishes nicely of all of them.

Otherwise id recommend the britemax twins if you're Gonna look online

Thing is though.. car is not parked infront of the house on the street but it's parked on a parking lot.
So I have to cross the street, go down a pedestrian walkway and walk up to the parking lot.

If I have to bring 3 buckets, I need to one to soak the car, one for washing the car and another to rinse the car.

Or a few litres and some onr...

The principal is odd, and you'll struggle to get your head around it. But it works!

guys what do U use to clean/polishe the exhaust tip? I mistreated mine for a few months and its quite bad now

I've just done mine.
Very gently rub with Autosol metal polish.
If its bad to start with use some wire wool with autosol on it.

Then finish it by going over with Autosol on a microfibre cloth.
Bit of wax or sealant last off to protect it a bit. :)
