As you see in the subject what do you think? im deciding wheather to get a gordini or a cup, need some help.

Gordini all the way. You'll get better interior and Malta blue paint.

Limited edition of what, 10 000 cars??? Is it still something you call limited...

I'd always buy a Cup, just because Amédée Gordini's cars were never about having leather interior and classy finishes, it was about sports and performance, and I consider every guy who buys a Gordini RS and is proud of it because it says Gordini on the trunk to just be a complete idiot who has no clue about car history and no respect for it.

But I've always been a bit extreme in my choices, which is why i never follow what everybody does...

I went cup for almost the reason Yotah mentioned. I like how it feels basic and stripped and far too stiff and noisy. How a warm hatch should be. Leave the plush stuff for the bigger cars.

But a gordini in black... Or specifically a black gordini gt... Now that's something I would LOVE

Dan give me a call sometime and can come over and see my one next to David's. His isn't a cup but it will show you side by side the differences.

But Dini all the way!

On the subject of raw and stripped out.... Explain how my plush car with all the trimmings can out pace two stripped cars in 4th..... ;) another thread me thinks!!

Engine wise renaultsports are not all equal.

I mean the way it feels. Which is how it's always been about for me. Otherwise I would have bought something with an engine that shifts instead

I quite fancied a 133 cup or FF with cup chassis. However, the interior was a bit of a letdown, even when expecting it. Fortunately, there was a Dini on the forecourt which kind of swayed the decision.

Performance wise theres not going to be a noticable difference unless your going to be getting out on track. On the road for most people the fully ticked options of the Dini are a nicer place to be.

beautiful is the gordini!

limited edition and harry houdini is uninteresting to me.

Unless it's intended for some serious trackday abuse and will get stripped out like yotah.

The gordini is a much nicer place to be on day to day driving.

You're not wrong about being extreme.

You need to treat the Gordini as it's intended - a top trim level for the model, and forget about the origins of the name.

It would be harder to re-trim a Cup to Gordini levels, than it would be to put Cup suspension on a Gordini, in order to get the cars to a centre position, so logic would suggest 'Gordini'

However, Renault make both for a reason - it's really a case of which car suits you best.

I'm up for it if you give him your number we can sort it out

I read the latest EVO and they tested the facelift 133 with the Cup pack and it annoyed them on day to day driving.
They are set to do a test of one with the standard suspension setup to see the plusses on the day to day bits and the probable minusses in comparison on the track

I have the Gordini RS, non cup model and I'm more than happy with how it handles, not too crashy or stiff, not experienced a Twingo Cup so cant compare. I went to the dealership to look at a pre-facelift white cup (brand new), and once I saw the Gordini on the forecourt didnt even bother to look around the Cup in the showroom.

I have a Clio 182 Cup too and the Gordini is easier to live with and also seems to handle just as well bizarrley enough.

In my own opinion and in real life driving, the Cup chassis is not a necessity. The only reason to pick it over the non-Cup is the wheels.

I opted for a Gordini non-Cup because I wanted the interior, toys and I liked it as an homage to the Gordini name. Admittedly I do get the best of both worlds by driving the Mrs 133 with the Cup chassis but the ride is harsh and crash. It does feel tighter in the corners and a little more pin sharp on the turn in. But my Gordini feels tighter then my 172 and the 172 is still an epically good car to drive and in the turns.

Get best of both worlds. Buy a Gordini with some H&R springs = Gordini Cup!

Moving shadow get out!! Stop making me look at his on lowering springs!!

But that is a justified option indeed

Oh chicken he already has it

I've texted you James, will talk about meeting up soon. ;) busy boy I am! :p
