When you fill up (petrol) do you always brim it, or put half a tank in, just a thought about whats more economical? carry the weight of a full tank or not? or do you not give a fuxk n just put in what cash you got at the time.

I've got a gt so not really much use to you but I fill mine everytime, £50 and get about 300 miles. I find it more economical than half a tank at a time.

Fuel is weight. Weight will decrease economy as your having to accelerate a greater mass, which will take more energy.

Run it in the red... And then use extra fuel constantly going to the petrol station

People care about the weight of a full tank in a road car?

I personally don't give two ***** as to how much fuel I put in, as long as it gets me to where I'm going and back its all good.

I always like to have a full tank, so I top mine up when it gets near a half - main reason is that whatever car it Is that I am driving seems to feel a bit more stable and planted with a full tank. Our scenic (being slab sided) is horrible to drive on empty as it gets blown around a fair bit.

No idea about economy - never seems to change the mpg however much it has in.

a litre of fuel weights around 0.74k, if the twingo's fuel tank is 40 litres
0.74 x 40 = 29.6kg (2kg = around the weight of a 2L of coke, try lifting 15 2L's of coke!)
that will be placing 29.6kg over the trailing rear axel which will increase traction over the rear wheels when filled, making for a more stable rear end assuming tyre pressures are correct. as a percentage , going from empty to full represents a 3% increase in weight. i'm not too sure, but i read somewhere fuel economy is calculated as standard with a full tank of fuel but i cannot confirm that.

happy new year dave :D !
