The government is proposing to add another 4p to the litre in January. Will it ever slow down?

*****.

apprently there is another proposed one in Aug,, much higher than 4p though

The current plan is to add an extra 3p, taking the average tank ~50l meaning an extra £1.50 to fill up.

It is being debated today whether to try and bring it down, with it being suggested to move vat back to 17.5% (though only as a temporary measure which makes me mad) which would take some money back off fuel along with everything else.

Didn't know about returning to 17.5% VAT... To be honest I never really noticed much difference in the things I buy when it went up to 20%, and 20% is a hell of a lot easier to work out lol. I guess 'every little helps' and it would be better to change the economy on a whole rather than just one part of it (fuel).

Fingers crossed they drop the price!

If it does end up going up again, im going to have to get shot of the wives Meg estate, cant justify a 2L petrol for her to trundle around in.

It's all a massive load of c*ck and just makes me very grateful that I don't have to commute by car. To me that doesn't make a huge difference but to those that have to put a tank in a week, it's a kick in the balls!

That said I've been working in the city for over 6 years and my monthly train ticket has gone up by about £40. :(

The cost of fuel is one of the reasons why I run a twingo.
If fuel was still around a pound a litre I'd have gone for a focus st. Or something else that likes a drink.

Karl you don't drive your car it sits on the drive so It don't affect you, and like I said at the meet go diesel ;P
