just had a look at the rs site and its now only the clio and megane in the rs range

yep, at the end of august just there. replace by that strange rear drive 3 cylinder thing i believe it is

Actually, orders closed at the end of July.
The last ones have either just been delivered, or are due to be very shortly. They've all been built as far as I know.

Nick's was the last Liquid Yellow to be produced

that's the one, couldn't remember if it was beggining of august or end of! a deffinate future classic like the 205gti :D

Yeah, ended July 31st, I was told a couple more were ordered after mine but mines the last one in liquid yellow.

No apologies for an excuse for a photo

won't affect it much at all peez as the non rs variant is still being produced with good sales figures. they should devalue as normal, but being a renault sport they won't end up a 300 pound gumtree car in 10 years time. clio 17/82's still go for 1.5-6/7 grand up to the trophy models. there should be an updated renault sport twingo in 2015/16 if the demand is there, in rear drive mid / rear engine format like the 5 turbo!

What does this mean parts wise for rs specific parts ie suspension, body panels ect as in 5-7 years they will not be made and hard to get!!

By law parts still have to be made available for 10yrs and then the patterns are usually bought by other companies. I ran a few porches in the past all in excess of 15-20yrs old and parts were never an issue.

That's cool as I know ford stopped making parts for the mk1 rs but yeah that will be ten years and over now!

Ten years :? Even the last of the RS Mk1s are nearly 40 years old

It's a shame that they've discontinued it so shortly after releasing the facelift. How awesome would it be if they did the new Twingo with the 3.5 V6 that the twin run concept has

i think the age of renault sport being mental like they did with there Clio V6 the chances will be close to nil of making a crazy Twingo cause in the day of today N/A engines are dieing cause turbo cars are more effecient and bla bla bla .....

if they ever do make an RS version in the new Twingo it has to be a new engine (1.4TCE ?) or a seriously souped up 1.2 TCE

but i doubt this would happen sadly ...

Unfortunately it looks like you're right, manufacturers can't exceed a maximum c02 figure now and that's calculated on their whole range, that's why Aston Martin released that Cygnet thing!

Although I think a Twingo with the 1.4 TCE would be pretty awesome tbh, would almost be like having the R5 GTT back!
