Has anyone got a HD camcorder with a tape part; MiniDV size?

I have some HD footage on two MiniDV tapes that I want off and converted to QT movies.....

I might be able to get hold of one but not promising anything lol

Any help would be appreciated.

All I'd do would post the tapes, you capture it full res (which every computer must do nowadays) into QT or avi files and then put those on a disk and send it all back.

It's just strange how MiniDV tapes are considered out of date tech yet semi-pro Sony's all still use them as back up!

It's either this or pay a company £50 a tape or something to get it done :(

i have a program that will convert any footage into full 1080p hd :p

Me too, but I need if off the tape (and its already 1080). Those software programmes are a cheat anyway, all they do is scale it up so its not actually 1080. It remains at original res and all the software does is add same coloured pixels. You can tell the difference easily - just looking at a "1080" DVD you can tell its nothing like the detail of a BR. :)

Ah forgot to reply.. The person who I thought had one, doesn't. Turns out their cameras use cards too :(

I have a USB - Firewire cable for my MiniDV camera. Record the data via playing the video tapes and saving it to the PC at the same time. I now have a HD video camera with built-in hard drive though, much easier than tapes!! :D
