Hi folks. First things first, i don't actually own a Twingo yet. I am hoping to get one in about 3 months when the finance on my current car ends. The main reason im on here is to find out about what to look for and what to avoid, and also if there are any common faults/fixes before i get my one.

My current car is a Chevrolet Kalos 1.4 sx, not the best car in the world, (but quite possibly one of the worst) and im wanting a Twingo because there funky, sporty and quite cheap for what your getting.

I am hoping to get a 08/09 133 cup. preferably in red with the decals on the doors/rear bumper, not sure if you car get reproductions if it doesn't as there quite fiddly. Also without A/C if that's possible? never use it so i don't see the point in lugging the extra weight about!

Any suggestions on what to look for or get would be much appreciated, even opinions on trim levels.

Singlespeed thanks very much for the links, very interesting reading. I now know that im wanting a RS CUP 133, no A/C or other stuff weighing it down and its probably worth finding one with the decals fitted.

Even havin all that an leather seats I can still play with the pure cups and have no issues. Your not gonna save much against a full fat with the cup pack and notice it that much

Id love to movingshadow and if its still for sale in 3 months i might (not quite sure on a white car, looks good but i like the red) but i'm in the same boat as a lot of people posting on it, Insufficient funds at current time .

Bank says i cant have a loan till the finance is payed off :x . and i cant pay off the finance in a lump sum becaus there wanting more cash for a early termination and the Kalos is rubbish and not worth the fule thats in the tank :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: .

Banks (and Chevrolets) suck.

I suppose i better show everyone some of the cars I've had

The beast that was my 205 gti , 130 bhp 1.6, then 176 bhp 1.9, rally suspention and fully striped out, it flew!!!

And my Kalos, current run around 1st 2 picks are standard when i bought it, it now has tinted rear lights, 6X4" tailpipe, white painted alloys, black spoiler, 30mm lowered suspension, front grill removed and spots fitted (headlights are rubish but wont take HIDs!), painted engine bay and interior, in the3rd and 4th pics, air filter 1.6 cams in the 1.4 and decat pipe, was 89 bhp, now 101 bhp. sorry for the dirty foot wells, hazard of living on a farm, im not there anymore thow.
There was a string of defenders, a range rover and a Rover 218 SDLT but i'm not wanting to clog up the topic.
